The space at Sheffield & Roscoe in Wrigleyville that used to have Redmond's (closed September 2020) had a new permit issued for it just a couple days ago. Who knows what's coming to the space? I assume a bar but...?

I somehow didn't realize it til now, but there was another 40 unit building permitted for the western part of the same parcel -- Grand & Christiana -- in early August. Meaning actually 80 total units with 2 buildings is coming to that lot in Humboldt Park

Plans for this building were approved by city council nearly 2 years ago. The permit for this wasnt submitted until mid July 2026 though. It took just over 3 months to fully approve this permit

New regional cuisine in Chicago unlocked (I think) as Hazar House opens in Lincoln Square (5047 N Lincoln) This serves in part Hazara cuisine which is mainly in Afghanistan but also parts of Pakistan It replaces Jibek Jolu which closed ~1 year ago, I think.
