And: a mayor who directly supports destruction of the limited safe traffic infrastructure that we have is undermining safety for all. No other major city with aspirations to offer their citizens a decent quality of life is taking this route xitter.cf/mindoverdata/status/21…

No amount of "context" makes that number of deaths and serious injuries okay, especially when we have proven techniques to calm traffic that are being stripped away.

Except that a person riding a bicycle has no where near the mass, energy, or lethality of a driver in a car. This may annoy you, but it poses zero actual danger to you.

~160 people are killed and ~1000 people are seriously injured every year by drivers in the GTA. Does that sound reasonable or in control to you?

Dear Torontonians,
Have we not learned from having Doug Ford as our Premier?
We cannot let Brad Bradford win this mayoral election.
Please vote accordingly.
Sincerely,
A concerned Torontonian ❤️
This is one of the many reasons I wear a helmet camera when I bike. Drivers in Toronto are out of control and emboldened by a provincial government that is actively dismantling safety and enforcement, and prioritizes drivers above all else. I'm glad they caught the guy.

Two ways to genuinely keep kids safe on their way to school:
Speed cameras, which this government outlawed.
Bike lanes, which this government is ripping out.
Every parent wants to know their child is safe on their way to and from school. It's a peace of mind we want for every student, in every community.
From kindergarten to high school, student safety is everyone's responsibility.
This School Bus Safety Week, I remind all drivers to slow down, stay alert and take extra care around school buses and school zones throughout the school year.
As long as we keep treating automobile violence as an inevitable cost of doing business rather than a failure of public safety regulation, this will continue to happen. I really hope for recovery for all the families impacted by this careless and negligent act.

A little weird that you're blaming the daycare worker, rather than the driver who managed to run over 6 people and a huge stroller in a residential zone in broad daylight.

This morning, environmental titan David Suzuki joined me in speaking about the risks to our safety and pocketbooks that come with Bradford’s proposal to privatize our water.
I’m grateful to have David’s support. His decades of leadership on the environment remind us that protecting our water means protecting our communities and our environment for future generations.
Our water should never be for sale.

Many of the schools on Bloor Street have students older than 10. How will they safely get to school on their bikes?

So drivers are killing pedestrians with their cars, and your solution is to... criminalize being a pedestrian instead of addressing driver behaviour?

By that logic, the quickest way to end pedestrian fatalities is to ban walking.
You're confusing the victim with the hazard.
