I was driving home tonight just thinking about how lucky I am to do what I do. I spend so much time with these guys that I know how much certain moments mean to them. I see the frustrating days, the setbacks, the days where nothing seems to click. So when things finally start coming together for them, it’s hard not to get just as excited as they do. And something that makes all of this even more special to me is that my 3-year-old son gets to grow up around these guys. He gets to watch them show up every day, work hard, handle adversity, and chase something they care about. I don’t think I could ask for a better environment for him to grow up around. Had a lot of moments this week that reminded me why I love doing this. Couldn’t be more proud of these guys. I really do have the best job in the world.

One of my favorite things about baseball is how much a player can change in the offseason The 78 mph sophomore can become the 86 mph junior… The 150-pound kid can show up 20 pounds stronger… The kid nobody was recruiting can suddenly have 10 schools calling… I’ve watched it happen over and over again Your development isn’t linear, and where you’re at today doesn’t determine where you’ll be a year from now A lot can change in 6 months when you stay consistent on the little things & stack the days

How to ruin an athlete… Coach the movement you WANT instead of the movement they actually HAVE. Two pitchers can have the exact same mechanical problem for completely different reasons. One might lack mobility. One might lack strength. One might just have terrible timing. Same visual. Different solution… That’s why copying drills from another pitcher rarely works. Diagnose first. Coach second.
