This one is hard to read.
He took $500,000 of equity out of his home and bought silver near the top. Today it's worth $218,000. The dream was to double it and retire in Thailand.
I'm not sharing this to pile on. I'm sharing it because it could be any of us.
Learn from your mistakes, or learn from others' mistakes. The markets do NOT care what your personal situation is.
Silver can still run. The metal was never the problem. Borrowed money, all in at once, and no exit plan were.
Now he's weighing his last $200,000. If he were your friend, what would you tell him?

Not up for an Ackman-sized tweet, but this is what I'm seeing:
- Early voting is swinging massively towards Ds
- Ds are not friendly to AI and data centers
- Trump loses midterms, he is going to obliterate Iran
- Oil goes to $200, a genuine energy crisis
- Reserves depleted to get it down
- Credit spreads ripping higher
- The usual concerns about private credit/insurers
If stocks were ever to drop, it will probably happen in the next few weeks

Regardless of how you feel about immigration, something isn't adding up.
Canada has massive true unemployment. Poverty is rising. Healthcare is dying. The people being brought in are disproportionately not doctors and engineers (I fully support importing qualified talent). Voters don't want this.
There's an underlying problem here no one is willing to talk about. Our country is built as a Ponzi scheme. The government must import new people to pay into the scam so that they can pay out the old investors so that the whole thing doesn't come crashing down.
The problem is that every Ponzi scheme crashes eventually. And the longer it goes on, the worse the crash is going to be.
Immigration levels in Canada are set to rise again.

BREAKING: President Trump says higher US inflation will "pay off" US debt "very rapidly" in response to total US debt rising above $40 trillion.
"I know I'm the best in the world... you can pay off the debt through other means. But the one thing that you can do is pay it off through growth, and we've never had growth like this," Trump said.
US Treasury yields hit a new high of the day after the statement.

Miners with projects in Brazil better hope that Bolsonaro junior wins the elections or else I worry that trouble is on the horizon at least as long as MAGA is in power in the US.
Companies that rely on US government support & contracts are especially exposed. Largo $LGO & USA Rare Earth $USAR spring to mind immediately.

Once you realize that many highly skilled trades don’t even make 1963 minimum wage today ($57.90/hr), you realize why we are short highly skilled trades 🤷♂️
Replying to @UziCryptoo
Minimum wage in 1963 in the US was $1.25
That was 5 silver quarters.
Today the melt value of those 5 silver quarters is $57.90.
Instead, US Federal minimum wage is $7.25
That's the whole ruse...that's the whole game.

The Canadian government put together a pitch book on 167 companies and sent it to 250 of the world's biggest investors ($120T in AUM). Atlas $SALT.NE is one of the 167.
Let's not read too much into what that means for the odds of cheaper financing, but let's not read too little into it either.
No doubt you'll find some interesting names in the other 166.
