I know up is down these days but serenading the UN for a position when you undermined the same institution and rejected the UN Panel of Experts’ findings on UAE links to the RSF to run cover for your government’s calamitous role in Sudan’s war is an outrage and an insult.
I've spent much of my life in and around the @UN. What stays with me most is its people: colleagues who, in the world's hardest places, deliver food and medicine, protect civilians and help parties take the first steps towards peace.
The UN was never meant to agree with the world. It was built to help the world agree. This UN Day, I remain confident in what the United Nations can achieve - and in the future we can build when it acts early, supports its personnel, and measures success by what changes on the ground. #UNDay

Nothing epitomizes #Sudan 's war more than the trend of RSF defectors warmly returning back to SAF while SAF weaponizes the death penalty against brave journalists, accusing them of enemies of the state
It's a clear admission that SAF believes that it alone constitutes the state

From Nyala to Omdurman, hunger is spreading as prices soar, the rainy season fails, medicines run short, and healthcare services deteriorate.
The deadly triangle of hunger, disease, and war will continue to claim lives unless peace is achieved and this war ends. #KeepEyesOnSudan

The UAE funding war and genocide in #Sudan.

The ICJ dismissing the case had to do with the UAE officially opting out of Article IX of the 1948 Geneva convention which means other states can't sue it at the ICJ under the convention unless the UAE consents. The dismissal had nothing to do with the UAE NOT funding genocide.
Replying to @Joyce_Karam
The UAE has been accused of arming the ruthless RSF militia in Sudan, accusations it has denied. Khartoum filed a case at the ICJ on 03/25 accusing UAE of complicity in genocide, the ICJ dismissed the case in 05/25. Sudan remains in a state of ugly war.

So really after 1800 people have died from famine and El Niño conditions in Sudan, suddenly reports are being made with the information that has been readily available since June.
And no there’s no excuse at all

🚨Just as some #Sudan farmers try to plant after fighting moves on, El Nino is pummeling them with the worst drought in decades.
WFP projects more than 1mln people will enter severe hunger as a result, and is unlikely to be able to help them.

The Sudanese government has moved to muzzle out dissent, threatening freedom of expression and journalists. Article 51 of the Sudanese penal code of 1991 'waging war against the state', a crime punishable by death, has been amended to include "electronic and media publishing" .

I don’t know how much evidence is needed for these elusive ‘war crimes’
3.5 years of absolute depravity and we’re still saying things like “MAY amount to war crimes, “MAY amount to genocide”
I’m tired

The UAE has also systematically funded the genocidal RSF and fueled the war in Sudan, while extracting billions worth of gold and other resources, causing the world's largest displacement crisis. Last October they slaughtered tens of thousands in a matter of weeks in El Fashir.
The only Palestinian they could find to run for UN Secretary-General is a shameless Zionist who works for the UAE regime, and has been a key promoter of Arab normalization with the genocidal Zionist entity.
Their dream Arab kapo.
If this succeeds (and if Russia and China permit it) it will be the final nail in the coffin for the UN.

I am a Palestinian journalist from Gaza. Lived my whole life there.
Lana is of Palestinian origin. She is a traitor to Gaza and Palestine, elevated and exalted by the Gaza Holocaust perpetrators and its vehement supporters.
Don’t vote for her no matter what.
I am standing to be Secretary-General because I believe this is a moment to act with greater urgency: to act earlier, bring people together across difference, and drive the work forward until it produces concrete results. That is how we rebuild trust in the United Nations and ensure it delivers meaningful change for the people it exists to serve.
