This is the correct timeline. Pakistan’s slow motion military coup has been continuously moving forward since the early teens triggered by the passing of the 18th amendment in 2010.
🇵🇰 In 2015, when Saudi Arabia asked Pakistan for troops, warplanes and warships for its war in Yemen, Pakistan's parliament debated the request for days and unanimously voted to stay neutral, amid broad public opposition. On Monday, Pakistan agreed to "rapid deployment" of forces to Saudi Arabia under the Makkah defense pact, as fighting with Ansar Allah escalates. No parliamentary debate or vote on the deployment has been reported. Since 2015, power in Pakistan has shifted sharply toward the military. Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir was made Chief of Defense Forces and given lifetime legal immunity under a 2025 constitutional amendment, while former Prime Minister Imran Khan, overwhelmingly the most popular figure in the country, remains in prison.

Moral victories for Aqib, Mohsin Naqvi and Hesson to talk about after this game 1. Even with a young team we were able to get 100+ 2. Two batters got to double figures 3. Boys played out one whole session 4. Team can get back to Pakistan sooner for inquiry and new camp

Whatever the merits of Imam's injury.....launching a public attack like this is objectively repulsive.

True. But even worse, many have also forgotten basic technique. Either that, or they were never taught. Watching Shaan Masood - who seems to have four arms in the place of basic footwork - was mind-numbingly frustrating. He was not the only one, of course.
Pakistan might be at their lowest ebb in Test cricket history, but the bigger worry is that they have forgotten how to put up a fight, writes @karachikhatmal READ: wisden.com/series/england-vs…
