Meet Dr. Elliane J. dos Santos Rubio – Dieben, one of the founding members of the Neuroscience Awareness Network, in this week’s Mission:BRAIN Minute. 🧠
More than 7 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Today, we recognize the importance of continued research, education, access to neurological care, and compassion for the millions affected by Alzheimer’s disease around the world. 💜
Catastrophic flash floods have devastated communities across Nepal.
Help mission:BRAIN support urgent relief and recovery for families affected. Every donation makes a difference.

Smell is the only sense with a direct line to the amygdala and hippocampus, no relay in between. Every other sense gets processed first. Smell just walks in. That's why one pumpkin spice sip teleports you 15 Octobers back.
September 11 is the National Day of Service and Remembrance in the US. Our chapters serve year-round: blood drives in Nepal, health camps in India, nurse training in Sierra Leone, and flood relief in Argentina right now. Find one act of service today.
September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day. Asking someone directly if they are struggling does not plant the idea. The research is clear: it opens a door. In the US, call or text 988 for free, confidential support. Anywhere else: findahelpline.com.
September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. 1 in 50 people is living with an unruptured brain aneurysm. Most never rupture. When one does, the sign is a sudden, severe headache unlike any before it. Treating that symptom as an emergency saves lives.

The congress also held the first WINGS forum outside a CNS meeting, focused on mentorship and leadership for women in neuroscience.
Today is World Brain Day.
The theme: Brain Health: Access for All.
More than 3.4 billion people live with a neurological condition, most where care is hardest to reach. The science is advancing. Access has not.
Closing that gap is the work ahead.
mission:BRAIN is running a design contest. No theme, just create something that captures what it means to you.
The winner's design goes on our merch store, and they pick which program the proceeds fund.
