Okay I feel like I need to take a second and address something:
Grey and Demi individuals deserve to have their orientation respected as much as the next, and the dismissiveness and gatekeeping are silly. Calling them confused allos is no better than saying bi people are gay 1/

Apparently @EA didn't like that we saw the leaked internal trailer for Mass Effect: Universe
So it would be a shame if we shared it far and wide.

I am immensely proud of the work I got to do on Dragon Age.
More than that, I am immensely proud of the people I got to work with on Dragon Age.
I also grew up in the golden age of KOTOR, I am immensely grateful to the memories BioWare provided to me.
A hugely sad day.

Based on my Cornell follow the money findings, and with a daughter applying to colleges right now, I wanted to look across more universities to understand how far this goes. So I built Behind the Ivory Walls, a model that ranks Americaβs 31 richest universities on who controls their police, how many sexual assaults they never count, what they have already been caught failing to stop and how much they have paid to settle abuse claims.
I scored every school on 10 criteria. They come down to three questions: who controls the police, how many assaults never get counted, and how much the school has already paid for abuse it was warned about.
The 10 criteria: who employs the campus police, who those police answer to, whether city police are required to lead sex crime cases, whether the public can see the records, whether anyone outside oversees the department, how many assaults never make the official count, how many victims tell no one at the school, the schoolβs documented failures, the money it has paid for abuse, and pending lawsuits.
Highlights of findings:
(1) USC, Cornell and Columbia stand apart from the rest. Each one has paid or agreed to pay ~ $1 billion or more for abuse by a doctor the institution had been told about.
(2) 21 of the 31 schools have no rule that requires anyone outside the university to see a sexual assault report before it reaches a prosecutor. Only seven have a written rule that hands sex crime cases to city police.
(3) Only about 1 in 15 of the assaults students describe in their own schoolsβ surveys shows up in the official federal count.
(4) 28 of the 31 run their own police force with arrest powers, and 28 have no independent oversight of those police at all.
(5) 16 keep their police records completely closed to the public. At nine, the police report up to the universityβs finance or legal office. At the University of Chicago, the department is overseen by the general counsel, the schoolβs top lawyer.
(6) At 19 of these schools, studentsβ own survey answers point to about 7,600 sexual assaults a year. Those same schools reported about 510 to the federal government. At the University of Chicago, the federal count captures 1.9% of what its own students report.
(7) At Penn, victims told no campus office at all in about three out of four incidents involving women.
If you have a child applying to college this fall or attending one right now, all 31 schools are in the article. Public universities are next, so let me know what other schools you want run next!
Full article is up on my Substack now (link in bio and it's free).

He got the info from a scam site. He identified the wrong woman. He will now face a soul-crushing lawsuit, at a minimum. He ruined his life because he was so determined to dox a victim of rape. Congratulations, Michael.
You're the biggest loser.
After identifying Jane Doe earlier tonight, I have now removed the information I published. Why? Because the principle has been served: to underscore that permanently anonymizing litigants who make sensational, spectacular, reputation-destroying claims about others -- so long as they can self-declare some form of victimization -- cannot be countenanced.
It's destructive, and an egregious abuse of the legal system by huckster plaintiff's lawyers. This practice has to end. Lawyers who seek to monetize this sleazy tactic should have to think A LOT HARDER about the claims they're willing to throw out into the public domain, using impressionable clients who may not even know what they're getting themselves into.
So why have I now removed her information?
Because I don't believe she's the main "villain" here. I primarily blame the bottom-feeding, media-manipulating, sleazebag lawyers who've made a whole cash-grab industry out of this racket.
Thomas Giuffra in particular has a lot to answer for. He's the central reason for the current debacle.
Given the intense nationwide and global interest in this case, I don't want to bring any further negative attention to this woman. I don't believe she ought to be punished or subjected to any retribution or humiliation. I believe a RATIONAL solution is necessary here. Not more character assassination -- of her, the seven young men, or anyone else. Truly, that is my genuine view.
I also recognize there are unique factors that must be taken into account given the hugely outsized publicity of this case.
So that's why I have removed the information. The aforementioned principle has been served: eroding the premise that anyone who claims any form of victimization is entitled to permanent anonymity, even as their lawyer(s) use the courts -- aided by a compliant media -- to name & shame others for the most heinous of crimes. No matter how lacking in credibility their own claims might be, or contradicted by mountains of other evidence.
That's all I ever sought to accomplish here. Not to impugn this young woman on a personal level. I have no animus toward her, and never have. I sincerely wish her the best, and hope her life is not defined by this calamity.
I completely stand by the accuracy of what I reported as to Jane Doe's identity. This is not a retraction -- it's an independent discretionary judgment I alone have made. No lawyers or anyone else have influenced this decision.
