I wrote about Fabrizio Romano's shameless promo for Mason Greenwood: defector.com/why-is-soccers-…
Look at these three miti.
@ParmaCalcio_en’s late 90’s backline: the perfect back three?
Thuram: quick, clever and great at breaking through lines with majestic runs forward.
Cannavaro: a marking and tackling perfectionist.
Néstor: the ideal organiser and interceptor.
Imagine spending your life only watching European football.

Found myself writing about 90s Mexican football again.
This time my contribution focuses on the 1993 Copa America, the undersold greatness of Hugo Sanchez, Jorge Campos's introduction to the world & El Tri's return from the international wilderness.

50 years ago today, the most thrilling football team ever (yes, that's an objective fact), Johan Cruyff's Holland, lost the World Cup final to West Germany. My whole life has been a preparation for making this @heroesandhumans podcast on Cruyff and 1974 megaphone.link/SPECIALPROJEC…

Our favourite historical goal is the incredible Ferenc Puskas drag-back vs England in 1953 🇭🇺
What is yours?
An excellent shout.
That team lit up Euro 2004!
Both Euro 2000 and Euro 2004 were full of exceptional sides that could have won the tournament.
Italy in 2000, too for example

Most football fans have that feeling in their guts that Spain won't win #EURO2024.
Why? The best team rarely wins the cup in international football.
Our next piece is about five teams, steeped in legend, that played well but didn't bring the trophy home.
Who would you include?
