I've been trying to avoid saying this, but it needs addressing. Flick is giving Rodri too much power in the team. Rodri keeps criticising how direct we play and talks about keeping possession instead. That possession gimmick sent us to the Europa League back to back under Xavi.
Rodri is starting to act like the coach instead of a player. Yesterday, Cancelo said we need to stop pressing high and keep possession. What makes Flick's football enjoyable is the directness and verticality. That's what brought us success. We can't abandon it because we signed Rodri. Flick needs to be careful about giving Rodri too much power.
