Interestingly, Sinatra didn't want to collaborate at all. He didn't believe the partnership would work because their musical styles were too different. But it turned out great!!! 🔥The way Elvis moves his hand, his neck, it's just so charismatic. So fresh. Nobody compares.

October 15, 1988 is one of the great sports days in American history.
1. "Catholics vs Convicts", an all-time CFB game.
2. Kirk Gibson's walk-off home run in the World Series, an all-time MLB moment.
Professional poker player Phil Ivey won $9.6 million at the Borgata. The casino paid him, then sued to get it back. At London’s Crockfords, he won another £7.7 million. They refused to pay.
In the video below, Ivey says his job is to play the game, find a weakness in the casino and use it to win. He calls the casino his opponent and points out that it spends millions of dollars protecting its games.
He wanted a specific brand of cards, a Cantonese-speaking dealer and the same decks reused. The casinos agreed. His playing partner, Cheung Yin Sun, asked the dealer to rotate certain cards, presenting it as a matter of luck.
The cards had tiny differences along their backs. Once high-value cards faced one way and the others faced the opposite way, those differences helped identify what was coming next.
Ivey never marked the cards. The dealer handled them. But the casino didn’t understand what those requests were doing to the odds.
He called it an advantage. The casinos called it cheating. In 2017, the UK Supreme Court ruled against him: persuading the dealer to arrange the cards crossed the line.
The casino had approved his requests while expecting to win. Ivey knew something about its own cards that it didn’t.
Was he cheating, or should a casino know its own game before accepting someone’s money?

Happy Birthday to the 1988 & 1990 ACC High Jump Champion – Herman Moore!
In addition his Track & Field exploits, @HMAN84 caught a few passes on the football field. He ultimately decided on football as a career path, and it seems to have been a pretty good decision. He played 11 seasons for the Detroit Lions, scoring 62 touchdowns and amassing over 9,000 yards receiving.

The so-called first AI to "pass the video Turing test" just miserably failed each one of my extremely simple Turing tests.
Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test.
48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video.
It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. Griffin-Lite leads NVIDIA's VideoFDB benchmark on their public leaderboard.

Is this actually what hell looks like? Every day is this - like an AI version of Groundhog Day. And the list keeps coming every morning.
Sam Altman just shared his personal ChatGPT Dots setup
At DevDay, OpenAI introduced dots, always-on agents with their own computer in the cloud. Altman also showed how he already uses one.
Every night the dot reviews everything that came in.
Before the day starts, it pings with anything urgent.
Over time it learns how he likes to work and where his attention should go.
The keynote listed bigger jobs to hand off too:
> monitor bug reports and test fixes in draft PRs
> find what is slowing down your app
> move an app off a legacy API before it shuts down
How to set up the same one is in the image below.

5 minutes of coverage getting you ready for the LinkU Invitational on Daniel Island. Hear from all 6 teams- Vanderbilt and UVA Men, CofC and Citadel men, CofC and USC Women. We also chat with Emma Navarro who knows this court quite well, just not with hardwood. John Groce and Amanda Butler, both set to make their debuts on the sideline for the Cougars. It really is setting up to be quite a spectacle on the court atop the green clay of Credit One Stadium.
