STATE OF MODE NETWORK YIELDS
TL;DR
►70% APR on ETH
► 80% APR on Stables
► 150% APR on MODE
First, let's look at $MODE itself:
1. LPing on Splice (>150%)
@splice_fi still has over 160% APR on $MODE for providing liquidity to their MODE Market.
Splice is a Pendle fork, so by providing liquidity, you're breaking your Mode up into PT Mode and MODE and will benefit both from a 20% variable APY from the liquidity and 166% APR in MODE emissions.
Surprisingly, this play has been staying >150% for weeks now, so while I typically worry about diluting myself, I don't mind boosting this one a bit.
2. Staking MODE (>45%)
This one is obvious. You stake your MODE directly on app.mode.network/early/ and yield 47.4% APR paid in $OP
These OP tokens are claimable weekly and paid out on @Optimism, which is pretty cool.
3. Splice PTs (62% FIXED)
Another Splice yield, buying the PT MODE token outright, allows you to lock in a FIXED RATE APR of 62.05% on MODE.
4. KIM's MODE LP Vaults (266%-720% APR)
The KIM/MODE LP Vault on @kimprotocol is advertising remarkable yields, though at very low liquidity ($26K). This is best for minnows who don't mind the volatility between the two assets.
However, KIM and MODE have been highly correlated since $KIM launched.
The ETH/KIM LP vault is over 100K liquidity with 266% APR.

How does @modenetwork grow to 10b+ TVL?
Thinking from first principles there are two key ways a DeFi chain/app can scale TVL
- increase returns - higher yields
- reduce risk - better security
Why does @arbitrum have the most L2 TVL?
- Good yields via strong app layer
- Lowest L2 risk as most secure stage 1 rollup + top dev team
Why does @aave have most money market TVL?
- Good yields
- great security record + processes
- strong governance + risk modelling
For Mode to scale via yields we need to continue to build an ecosystem that has a range of opportunities on new assets via new applications. Our team is miles ahead of most other L2s when it comes to:
- integrating new yield-bearing assets across key money markets @ionicmoney (img) @SturdyFinance @IroncladFinance
- introducing new assets for LP on @kimprotocol @VelodromeFi
- more education and gtm support for new innovative DeFi protocols with industry leading yields such as @splice_fi (img)
- adding volume incentives to Season 2 points system (going live this week)
- supporting native accelerator apps to launch net-new apps Mode
- launching new native yield assets (coming soon)
In addition, to improve protocol and ecosystem security Mode is:
- working with Optimism to ship Fraud proofs shortly after the OP upgrade, to make more Mode a Stage 1 rollup
- link directly to project audits from the Mode dashboard (will be live by end of week)
- invest further in audits and onchain threat monitoring tooling
