Certainly one of his better late-career collections, but you can tell the ambition was smaller - whether by choice or by force.

There's something about Armani Privé S/S 2023 that is both eerie and satisfying to look at. There's a beautiful synergy between his dressmaking and the harlequin motifs. The man had impeccable taste.

The products have always been desirable. But that's all Burberry seems to aspire to be - just a product brand. There's no real creative argument or world-building beyond that. And for a heritage house, that's kind of a shame.

It's not a historically glamorous brand, but I agree that they've generally struggled to command the authority that Burberry once had.

NYC offered landlords tax breaks to keep clothing manufacturers in the Garment District. In May 2025, the CFDA reported that literally ZERO landlords opted in. How do you screw up a tax break for landlords in New York?

Anyone a British designer called Hamish Morrow? He's a contemporary artist now but in the early 00s he produced some stunning womenswear. In his S/S 2002 collection, models in ivory white clothing walked through purple ink to reveal a floral print that was invisible before.

One of the greatest couturiers in history. Lacroix never passed up a chance to remind you how DULL reality is.

There's nothing "ironic" or "subversive" about Demna's work. He's never had anything serious to say. Nicki Minaj is EXACTLY the kind of client he makes clothes for.
This was a really interesting read
