When a CEO sounds upbeat on an earnings call, the real audience might be a machine. Algorithms became the main readers of company reports, so companies learned to avoid the words they read as bad news. Big Tech reports this week. Here’s how to read past the spin: 1. Skip the speech, go to the questions. The CEO’s opening is scripted. The Q&A with analysts isn’t, and research shows it tells you more. 2. Play spot the difference. Open this year’s annual report next to last year’s and check the “risk factors” section. New or deleted risks have tended to come before weaker results. 3. Follow the cash. If profit is growing but the cash coming in isn’t, ask why. Or let a machine do the reading. Just pick one that shows you where every number came from.

We take security seriously. That's why we're starting to roll out new security features on Moneda 👉 View and manage your active sessions on other devices 👉 Security notifications in case someone attempts to access your device or tries to take over your passkey 👉 Add a backup passkey for signing transactions (including hardware security keys) 👉 Freeze your passkey to prevent sending transactions on Moneda. Useful for traveling or to prevent unauthorized live takeovers

These functionalities, combined with our recovery methods (email + trusted contacts), allow users to enjoy the best wallet experience whilst having peace of mind, knowing that they will get full transparency of what's happening in their accounts xitter.cf/moneda_com/status/2082…
Lost your phone? That shouldn’t mean losing access to your money. Moneda now lets you set a recovery email for your passkey. Verify it once, and if your device ever goes missing, that email gets you back in.

Recovery email sits alongside Recovery Contacts in Settings, Security. Both run through your own account on-chain, which is the reason we cannot restore access for you, and nor can anyone else.

The best part: you never hand over your keys. 🔒 You approve once with your passkey. After that, payments run capped, locked to one recipient, and enforced on-chain. Not even we can move or touch your money. You stay in full control.

Do it before it's too late. 🫵 Losing access to your crypto wallet is a solved problem. The industry just hasn't shipped the fix to consumers. Every self-custody wallet gives you the same choice: write down 12 words and never lose them, or trust a company not to disappear. Both are bad. One puts the risk on you. The other puts it on someone else. Recovery contacts fix this. You pick up to 3 people you trust. If you lose your phone or passkey, one of them approves your new device by signing on their side. They can never spend your money on their own. The wallet stays self-custodial, you just stop being a single point of failure.

If you use Moneda, open Settings → Security → Recovery and add at least one. Takes 90 seconds. It's the difference between "I lost my phone" and "I lost all my money."

150 days ago, Moneda went live. Holding your own money shouldn't take a seed phrase, a 42-character address, or nerves of steel. So it doesn't. Dollars and euros, in your name, held by you, no bank in the middle. What's next is the part we've been most excited to build. Stay tuned!

Payment references are now live on Moneda. Add the reference a biller asks for, and pay invoices the same way you pay a friend. Why does it matter? Send money without a reference and a business sees the payment arrive, but cannot tell who it came from. The reference is what connects it to you. So the account you use can now settle an invoice, pay utility bills, or pay a company that accepts a bank transfer.

You don't hold the money in your bank. Your bank does. When your balance sits with a bank or an exchange, you own a claim on an institution, and you trust it to honour that claim. Usually it does, but sometimes it doesn't. Self-custody is the other option. You hold your money directly, and nobody else can move or freeze it. For years it had a hard catch: the seed phrase. One lost piece of paper, and the money was gone for good. That has changed. Self-custody now works without a seed phrase. A passkey on your device takes the place of the twelve words, so there's nothing to write down and nothing for a scammer to talk out of you.
