‘Podcast' is a portmanteau of ‘iPod’ and ‘broadcast.’
Let’s break it down.
The word ‘cast’ comes from the Old Norse word ‘kasta,’ meaning to “throw.”
When people would throw seeds over a broad area, it was called ‘broadcasting.’

‘NAKAKAGALIT NA MAY LUPA, TUBIG PARA SA PAX SILICA’
Instead of the usual burning of an effigy, rallyists on National Peasants’ Day used sickle props to destroy a banner featuring the face of US President Donald Trump and the words “Pax Silica.”
The Marcos administration earlier announced that Trump will visit the country for the ASEAN Summit in November, which the groups said they will welcome with protests to denounce the Pax Silica initiative.
“Protesta ng bayan po ang sasalubong kay US President Donald Trump pagdating niya sa Pilipinas. Nakakagalit po na may lupa para sa Pax Silica, may tubig para sa Pax Silica [pero] walang tubig sa ating mga komunidad [at] meron para sa mga dayuhan,” BAYAN SecGen Mong Palatino added. | via @AllisonCoABSCBN

On Sunday, the Asian Migrants Coordinating Body demanded a living wage of HK$6,172 for all migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. At a press conference, they said they opposed the recent proposal to freeze domestic workers' minimum allowable wage if HK$5,100 and food allowance of HK$1,236.
AMCB spokesperson Septi said: “For AMCB, the demand for a pay freeze actively pushes migrant workers deeper into financial hardship. The current legal minimum salary of HK$5,100 per month is already incredibly low. It fails to reflect a true living wage for the city. A frozen wage acts as a functional pay cut, driving workers into severe personal debt”.

#Philippines: The lawyers for journalist Frenchie Mae Cumpio have filed an appeal in the bogus case against her for "financing terrorism," which could carry a sentence of up to 18 years in prison. RSF reiterates that she's been detained for 6+ years on entirely fabricated charges, as confirmed by our investigation. She shouldn't be in prison and must be released immediately. 👇
