SHOCKING!!!
Attn, Governor @HyacinthAlia
The condition of Okoto-Ugboju LGEA Primary School in Benue State deserves urgent attention. The children are trying to learn in classrooms with damaged floors and deteriorating structures, while some pupils are forced to sit on the bare floor because there are no desks for them.
These are young children whose only hope of a better future may lie in the education they receive today. They should not have to learn under such conditions. Every child, regardless of their community or family background, deserves a safe classroom, a proper desk and an environment where learning can take place with dignity.
What makes this situation even more concerning is the reported ₦137.38 billion that Benue State received in FAAC allocations between January and September 2026. This figure needs to be verified, but if confirmed, it raises an important question: how much of the state's public revenue is being invested in basic education, and why are schools like Okoto-Ugboju LGEA Primary School still in this condition?
Public funds should translate into visible improvements in people's lives, particularly in education, healthcare and other essential services. Communities deserve transparency about how government revenue is spent, and parents deserve to know what is being done to provide their children with decent learning facilities.
We appeal to the Benue State Government, the Ministry of Education, the State Universal Basic Education Board, the relevant local government authorities and other concerned stakeholders to urgently visit this school and take concrete steps to renovate the classrooms and provide adequate desks and learning materials.
This is not about politics. It is about the welfare and future of our children. Please, let us raise our voices, share these pictures and draw the attention of those who can make a difference.
The children of Okoto-Ugboju deserve better. Their education cannot wait.

MonITNG Raises Alarm Over Dilapidated Primary School in Benue, Urges Urgent Government Intervention uzorngoladi.com/monitng-rais…
Dear Hon Minister @BTOofficial
I sincerely appreciate the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Nigeria Immigration Service for extending the Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom. This extension is a welcome development and a relief to many Nigerians in the diaspora who are struggling to renew or obtain their passports.
However, I respectfully appeal to the Minister and the relevant authorities to consider establishing permanent liaison offices in designated cities across the UK. Passport services should not be a one-off exercise but a continuous process that allows Nigerians living abroad to access these essential services without unnecessary stress, travel expenses, or long waiting periods.
Such offices would also help Nigerian parents whose children were born in the UK to process the necessary documentation and apply for Nigerian passports and national identity registration, in accordance with the applicable requirements.
A permanent and accessible system would demonstrate a lasting commitment to the welfare of Nigerians in the diaspora and strengthen their connection to their homeland.
Thank you once again for this extension. We hope this initiative will lead to a more permanent and sustainable solution for all Nigerians in the United Kingdom. @nigimmigration

This is the current condition of RCM Primary School, Adikpo, in Mayange Mbayan, Ushongo LGA, Benue State. Since 2023, this school has reportedly remained in ruins, while children who should be learning are left without a decent classroom.
Behind these broken walls are innocent children with dreams, ambitions and a future worth fighting for. How can we expect them to learn effectively when the very environment meant to support their education has been abandoned? Parents worry about their children’s future, and the community continues to bear the painful consequences of this neglect.
Residents have reportedly written several letters to relevant stakeholders, pleading for the school to be renovated, but their appeals have yet to produce the needed results.
This is happening in a country where an estimated 18.3 million children are out of school. Every neglected school risks making an already serious education crisis worse.
Meanwhile, Benue State reportedly received over ₦137.38 billion in FAAC allocations between January and September 2026. If this figure is confirmed, residents deserve to know what proportion of public resources is being invested in education and why a school in this condition has remained unattended for so long.
We call on the Benue State Government, the Ministry of Education, SUBEB, Ushongo LGA and all relevant authorities to urgently intervene and restore RCM Primary School to a safe, functional learning environment.
These children did not choose to be born into a community where their school could be left to decay. They deserve the same opportunity to learn, grow and succeed as every other Nigerian child.
A classroom is not a luxury. Education is a right, and these children must not be forgotten.
Please amplify this appeal until the authorities listen and action is taken.

This is the only Primary Health Care Centre serving Sabon Gida, Fadan Karshi Ward, Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, yet it is in a terrible condition. The ceilings are collapsing, the walls are cracked and peeling, and the facility looks abandoned.
There are no essential drugs, functional equipment, or adequate qualified health workers. Pregnant women, children suffering from malaria and fever, and elderly people with chronic illnesses are left without proper care. Many must travel long distances to access treatment or risk buying drugs from unlicensed vendors.
Between January and September 2026, Kaduna State received ₦203.60 billion in gross FAAC allocations, while local governments also received substantial funding. Despite this, residents of Sabon Gida continue to suffer from a neglected health facility.
The Federal Government has also released billions of naira through the Basic Health Care Provision Fund to improve primary healthcare nationwide. Yet, this centre remains in a deplorable state, raising serious concerns about accountability, funding priorities, and the delivery of essential healthcare services.
We call on @KadunaMOH and the Sanga Local Government Council to urgently renovate this facility, provide essential medicines and functional medical equipment, and deploy qualified healthcare workers.
The people of Sabon Gida deserve access to safe, affordable, and reliable healthcare. No community should be abandoned when it comes to basic medical services. Authorities must act now to protect lives and restore this facility to a functional condition.
Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

This is the deplorable state of Ebenta Primary Health Care Centre in Oju LGA, Benue State, the only health facility serving over 3,000 residents of the community.
Imagine a pregnant woman in labour, a mother rushing her sick child to the hospital, or an elderly person in need of urgent medical attention. This is the facility they have to depend on for treatment. Sadly, the condition of this health centre raises serious concerns about the safety, comfort and dignity of patients.
Ebenta is a historic community in Igede land, yet its people are left struggling to access basic healthcare. Our mothers give birth here, our children receive treatment here, and our families depend on this facility in times of sickness. Nobody should have to risk their life simply because they cannot afford to travel elsewhere for medical care.
Residents have tried their best to support the facility with their limited resources, but healthcare is the responsibility of government, not a burden that should be left entirely to ordinary citizens.
At a time when billions of naira are reportedly being released for the upgrade of primary healthcare centres across Nigeria, what has become of communities like Ebenta? Where is the impact of these investments on the lives of the people who need them most?
We appeal to the Federal Ministry of Health, the Benue State Government, Oju Local Government Council and relevant health authorities to urgently intervene and rehabilitate Ebenta PHC.
Our mothers deserve a safe place to give birth. Our children deserve proper medical care. The people of Ebenta deserve a clean, functional and adequately equipped health centre.
We are not asking for too much. We are asking for a decent place where lives can be saved. Please help amplify this cry for help. Ebenta must not be forgotten!

Residents Raise Alarm Over Quality of Concrete Drainage Pipes for Benin-Agbor Road rehabilitation
IKHUENIRO, Edo — Concerned residents of Ikhueniro Community in Uhunmwode local government area of Edo State have expressed worries over the quality of large concrete pipes intended for drainage construction as part of the ongoing intervention work along the Benin-Agbor Road.
The residents raised concerns about the structural integrity of the pipes after observing what they described as questionable construction materials, including the apparent absence of steel wire mesh in one of the damaged pipes.
According to the residents, the steel reinforcement is expected to strengthen concrete drainage pipes and improve their ability to withstand cracking and structural loads.
A close examination of one of the damaged pipes reportedly revealed no visible steel wire mesh, raising questions among residents about the quality of materials being used for the drainage component of the road rehabilitation project.
The concerns emerged after one of the pipes accidentally fell from a crane while being unloaded from a truck, exposing its internal structure and prompting residents to question its durability.
Speaking to @dailysouthngr on Thursday, a resident who expressed disappointment over the incident said the community had not realised what they described as the questionable quality of the pipes until the accident occurred.
“The pipe is not solid. It just means they are not going to do a good job on the road. Imagine the kind of materials they use in producing the pipes; just waste,” the resident, identified as Esohe, lamented.
President @officialABAT had earlier ordered an emergency intervention on the approximately 125-kilometre stretch from Ring Road in Benin City to Asaba on the River Niger.
Drainage infrastructure plays a critical role in protecting roads against flooding, erosion and premature deterioration, as poorly manufactured or improperly installed drainage pipes can compromise the effectiveness of drainage systems and potentially increase maintenance costs.
However, findings showed that concrete drainage pipes may be manufactured with or without steel reinforcement, depending on their design specifications, intended use and structural requirements.
Consequently, determining whether the pipes meet the required standards would require a technical assessment of their specifications, concrete composition, structural strength and suitability for the intended drainage works.
The residents are concerned that the quality of materials used in the project could affect the long-term durability of the drainage system and have called attention to the need for proper scrutiny of construction materials used on public infrastructure.
As of the time of filing this report, DAILY South Nigeria had not independently established the specifications of the pipes, whether steel reinforcement was required in their design, or whether the damaged pipe had undergone any technical assessment.
