This resonates. Retention, development, and growth of almost everyone depends on their manager. However, companies often focus on culture but don’t focus enough on hiring, developing, and retaining amazing managers.

The company the executives build is reflected in the managers they hire. Eg. If execs say their employees are their greatest asset, but don’t hire & develop great people managers, then clearly that’s not true. The quality of the managers is the quality of the company.
