Samuel Montgomery-Blinn

Durham, It started decades ago. I didn’t know then, but I know now. I could not imagine that when I came to the “big city” of Durham from a small town in eastern NC, looking up at University Tower, this city would push me to run for mayor and vote for me to win. I will not take for granted the trust you have placed in me by electing me as your next mayor. It is with a heart full of love for this beautiful city and its remarkable people that I express my deepest thanks. Thank you for choosing me, Durham. It is not what I will do as your mayor that matters most – it’s what we will do together to make this city work for everybody. I promise to continue to serve this city with all my heart and soul. Together with our regional and city representatives, and most importantly, with all of you, we will create a Durham that we can all be proud of. With shared dreams for a better tomorrow, we will move forward together. I also extend my congratulations to my fellow council members on their victories last night. I am excited to collaborate with each of you to make Durham an even better place to live and work. Once again, thank you for your trust, your support, and the promise of a new day in Durham. I love you. Leo Williams Mayor-elect of Durham youtu.be/McJMX92Uasc?si=-fxj… – at Durham, NC
