Before I die, I’m going to eat a bag of unpopped popcorn. That should make the cremation a little more interesting.

If you’re blessed to have children come to your door for trick-or-treating, please remember that not all children have the ability to speak. Some may be nonverbal or communicate in other ways. Please don’t make a child speak in order to receive a treat. Every child deserves to enjoy the magic of Halloween, just as they are. ❤️🎃

He beat cancer and then immediately went back to tweeting about how AI sucks. That's my pope 🙏

Machines are tools, not persons. Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity.

Patrick Stewart's stories from DUNE are pretty great. There's a whole thing about how David Lynch was disappointed when he showed up because ... well, I won't spoil it. And then this, on his first conversation with Sting, is quite funny:
Patrick Stewart was amazing, a bygone sort of actor with working-class ethics and classical aesthetics. One of the most generally beloved men in Hollywood. Could play a nasty villain! Great actor, he will be missed. thebulwark.com/p/patrick-ste…

"I don't understand why they're pushing AI so hard when we can all see it's making everything worse." That's because it's not being marketed to you; it's being marketed to governments and plutocrats. They're the real target audience for these products, not you. You are not receiving the real sales pitch for AI, because the real sales pitch would not appeal to your sensibilities. The real sales pitch for AI isn't "Hey check out this product, it makes some web searches slightly easier and it can maybe write your emails for you." The real sales pitch for AI is "This product allows you to surveil the entire population of your country. It can be built into autonomous surveillance drones and killing machines. It can allow you to monitor and control every aspect of your society. It can reverse the decentralization of information brought on by the internet age. It can take away the collective bargaining power of workers and give you the skilled services your company requires. It can nullify strikes, civil disobedience, and even full-scale revolutions, and lock humanity into your capitalist dystopia forever." That's the real sales pitch. It doesn't sound appealing to any normal person, but it makes sense when you remember who these technologies are really being sold to, and why.

If you ever see a list of great Dracula performances and this man isn't on it, don't trust that list

When you find out they made Funko Pops for the 1994 Interview with the Vampire and get super-excited, only to find out they didn't make Lestat: (Not gonna lie, my first thought after "ARE YOU KIDDING ME" was "Ohhhh, he'd be so PISSED about that")

I love that the pro-AI people legitimately think that we anti-AI people actually use the AI slop. They love to hit you with “Okay so go without for a week then and see how hard things are.” like friend... You'll never believe this but I actively avoid AI in all of its commercial uses. It’s literally brain rot.

A prankster fakes an Apple Pay charge on a Red Baron delivery guy who's stocking freezers, already an hour late getting home to his four kids, and expects him to laugh. He didn't. Good for him. Then regular Americans sent him more than $480,000, and Red Baron publicly said he's still on the team and has a fan club, "including us." The guy filming strangers for clicks? His account got shut down. That's this country at its best. "Prank" content is mostly harassment with a ring light. Respect people doing an honest day's work, and leave them alone.
