The Real-Life Experiences Behind Yang Chaoyue's Portrayal of Zheng Yu
Yang Chaoyue's parents divorced when she was just 12 due to financial difficulties. As an only child, she stayed with her father, whose health wasn't good either.
In an interview, her father once said, "The divorce had such a great impact on her...". Unable to bear seeing her father struggle alone, she gave up continuing her education after middle school and started working. She took various jobs, from waitressing to factory work, even injuring one of her fingers in a factory accident. She was also scammed a few times while trying to make a living.
Hoping for better opportunities, she eventually moved to shanghai alone at a very young age. Life was incredibly difficult. There were days when she barely had enough to eat, yet she always told her parents she was fine and continued sending money home, even when she had almost nothing left.
I think one of the biggest similarities between Yang Chaoyue and Zheng Yu is that they both had to grow up too quickly, become independent at a young age, and carry family responsibilities while facing financial struggles.
Their lives aren't identical, but perhaps Yang Chaoyue's own experiences allowed her to understand Zheng Yu on a deeper level and portray her struggles with such sincerity and emotional depth..

one thing zheng yu and yang chaoyue have in common is their resilience personality.
at the age of 12 she have to drop out of high school to work multiple jobs to support her family situation. she was severely bullied in school and mistreated in workplace. she have a permanent scar on her left index finger from working at a sewing factory. she tells these experiences on livestreams/variety shows but never use it to gain sympathy from fans. her story of becoming the chaoyue today will move you just like zheng yu’s story.

I'm so done with these two 😭. The drama is serving heartbreak while the variety show is serving diabetes. I CAN'T KEEP UP WITH THEM 😭🫠.

The scene where zhengyu gets beaten up by a drunk man was filmed for three hours straight, with Chaoyue having to endure repeated falls throughout the sequence. Most of the takes were done without padding, which was only used for the close-up shots of her face. I really hope this leaves a lasting impression and finally puts an end to anyone questioning her dedication and passion for acting. She's continuously pushing herself and improving, and she truly gives her all to bring her characters to life 🥺👏🏻.
Udah di tahap ada yg muji fashionnya zhengyu, padahal setiap reuters diriku bawaannya maki2 terus 😭😭😭
When you realize yanzhou still doesn't know that zhengyu was the one who posted in the bullet community asking about his late brother, and they're already in their comrades era... And if they get any closer before he finds out, OMG, the sense of betrayal is going to hit SO HARD 😭💔
Oh, the angst we're about to get... FEED IT TO ME 😫
