Getting diagnosed feels like such a strange mix of relief and grief (?) finally understanding yourself but also feeling kind of angry about all those years you spent thinking you just weren't trying hard enough

it's genuinely baffling to me how vicious people can be towards Hudson when he's such an honest, warm, kindhearted and lovely person

“You can really get things off your chest and you can really navigate things by just being fully open and vulnerable. It’s been just a beautiful, beautiful time. […] and I’m going to keep it with me. Um, hopefully for the rest of my life. I like this energy […] being connected, being grounded. I don’t think there’s a better way to be, thanks to all of you guys.”
Oh Hudson… that was so beautifully said

hudson talking about his experiences with adhd really hit home for me. even though medication can be so great and helpful, sometimes it still feels like admitting defeat and you just want more than anything to just do what you tell your brain to do

Hudson is so well spoken, thoughtful, kind, and genuinely caring. You can tell he puts so much thought into everything he says and genuinely cares about the people he's talking to. He's just such a beautiful human being, inside and out. 😭

Hudson Williams reflects on the stigma surrounding ADHD in Asian culture:
“Ignoring them. Saying they’re ‘fake, it doesn’t exist, and you have to be more disciplined.’ A lot of the answers in Asian culture are just ‘more disciplined.’ Sometimes, that could be good, but a lot of times it could look like, I think, denying a sensitive connection to yourself, a sort of kindness to yourself. With ADHD, it was like no matter how hard I tried, I remember, like, classes where I’m fully rested and fully want to learn, and I’m listening to his words, [then I’m like], ‘What’s that on the wall?’ I’m listening to his words, but I’m like, ‘What’s that on his mouth? What’s that sound?’ Five minutes have went by, and I maybe heard one thing, despite all my efforts being to just listen, and I don’t think me or mom wanted to admit I have it. We didn’t want to do medication. I’m meeting with the doctor in a week to re-examine if I should get on medication and try it again. The Korean in me, it’s just like, ‘Just focus.’”
