i recently got diagnosed with adhd. but long before i even knew what adhd was, i first-principled my way into managing it by understanding what it actually means to 'work with your brain' and successfully stopped struggling with my mental health for the first time in 2023 for the first time in 10 years, i saw hope that i could be someone who can do things on command and felt how it's to live on survival mode all the damn time (this came through religiously writing morning pages for 3 months every single day) i want to share more about how that entire process went and what happened in that summer of 2023 that finally made me come out of the abyss created by my own mind here's a lil something i wrote in 2024 for the interact fellowship on this:

For everyone saying if this is what we're up against in the job market and if you have to litr create a whole film just to get hired If you really love what you do & know who you are then doing this entire thing will get you the most excited You'd be amazed how much hard work gets easy when you love your work. Maybe smtng to think about
Hi, it's Darshita. I am a designer. And I'm pitching myself in public 'cause I'm done with a year full of anxiety. Everyone says design is dead and AI killed it. But the real parasite was hiding in plain sight. So here's my film, DESIGN IS DEAD. She's bold, fearless and very PINK 💖 Hiring? My DMs are open.

So excited to be attending the design happy hour hosted by @jayneil & team ⭐ Please say hi if you're coming too!
Replying to @saurabhsoni_ss
@saurabhsoni_ss, @abnux and I are hosting a Config Happy hour in Bangalore this Friday. Selfishly we want to get the 100 top AI native designers in India in the same room and learn from them. If that's you sign up here: luma.com/tbsaa3zq @rishfishtish will review all the applications manually as the bar is really high. Shout out to @Razorpay_Design and @SarvamAI for making this event possible and @kamini_300 for designing the visuals. See y'all there 🫶

You need to be extremely skeptical of any claim that ascribes to AI a fundamental, insurmountable lack of something intangible, like "taste" or "creativity." I draw the line at phenomenal consciousness, which I'm certain AI does not have, but I believe everything else can be abstracted enough for AI to grasp and perform at a top human level. It doesn't please me to admit it, but most discourse defending "human exceptionalism" on any grounds other than phenomenal consciousness doesn't convince me. It always sounds like cope or wishful thinking.

I wanna see more Carl Sagan energy in tech
i feel we've lost any sense of romanticism and humanity about company building in tech and it's a very dark path

when all the tech people run out of use cases for personal ai assistants and get bored of optimizing everything, we'll turn to the history, art & philosophy majors to show us what intersectional creativity, phenomenological experiences and entirely new ways of engaging with the world can actually look like with ai
