Alle elezioni di metà mandato Donald Trump ha perso la Camera e il Senato. Dal 3 gennaio la maggioranza sarà democratica in tutto il Congresso, e con lei tutto ciò che passa da lì.

Era un traguardo impensabile un anno fa. I commentatori televisivi parlano del presidente Donald Trump come una "anatra zoppa", che dovrà tornare a confrontarsi con il Congresso, dopo averlo sottomesso alla sua volontà. Trump afferma di essere "assolutamente disposto ad accettare" i risultati elettorali, per poi pubblicare su Truth una foto per provocare i democratici: “Veto”.

URGENTE - Em seu primeiro pronunciamento após a vitória nas eleições deste domingo (25), o presidente reeleito Lula (PT) agradeceu aos brasileiros pelo apoio recebido e destacou a participação da juventude na defesa da democracia.
“Quero agradecer ao povo brasileiro a generosidade que eles têm comigo há muito tempo. E nesse segundo turno agradecer a generosidade da juventude brasileira que foi para rua para defender a democracia”, afirmou Lula.
O presidente também agradeceu às pessoas idosas e àquelas que enfrentam problemas de saúde e foram votar. “Eu vi muitas cenas hoje de pessoa sendo carregada pelos seus netos para ir votar, pessoas impossibilitadas de [...] não comover, pessoas com câncer e com outro tipo de doença”, disse ele.
Segundo Lula, os eleitores foram às urnas por compreenderem a importância do voto para a democracia. “As pessoas foram votar porque nós conseguimos convencê-las de que o voto era muito importante para assegurar a democracia no país”, declarou.

Congratulations to the @IntlCrimCourt (ICC) and its officials on receiving the 2026 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, following its nomination by the @TheProgressives Group.
At a time when the Trump administration is imposing sanctions that threaten the Court’s independence and its ability to deliver justice, this award sends a powerful message.
Europe must stand firm in defending the ICC and the independence of international justice. As @UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres has said, “the force of law must always prevail over the law of force”. That principle must hold for everyone, without exception.

In Madrid, the President of Argentina, Javier Milei, spreads lies and hatred against Pedro Sánchez and uses aggressive rhetoric against socialists, while praising his allies in Vox. This is shameful. The office he holds demands more dignity than that.
