On Sunday morning, Bengaluru citizens, mostly youngsters cutting across political lines, gathered in Indiranagar holding placards, posters & roses to form human chains under the banner of @deardk_blr to oppose B-SMILE's elevated corridor projects.

Bengaluru citizens under the banner of @deardk_blr will form human chains on Oct 11 at 11am at Indiranagar SV Metro-KFC Signal & Jayanagar Rose Garden Park to oppose B-SMILE's elevated corridor projects.

Before spending ₹18,204 crore on 13 proposed elevated corridors spanning 126.44 km, publish independent traffic and environmental studies. Will they ease congestion or shift traffic jams? Prioritise Metro, buses and junction upgrades over costly flyovers.

Do watch this to understand the scale of police mobilisation today. People walking down the road are being picked up and put into buses. Journos aren’t being allowed to access the roads where these buses are stationed
This is very different from what we saw during the July protests
Wrote a bit on the hyper fixation on trees and why that may be. Was the 15L tree planting drive a good thing? (Spoilers: No)

When police lathi-charged Muslim voters in Sambhal during the 2024 elections, the ECI dismissed the footage as "false".
The clean chit came from Sambhal's returning officer Manish Bansal – son-in-law of then Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. @scroll_in

Justitce Krishna Murari was a Supreme Court Judge when two cases against the Ambani "Vantara" were heard by him. Both case resulted in verdicts in favour of Vantara
Three years down the line...... Murari now serves as an independent voting member of Vantara’s Governing Council.

I'm just glad the lucky few who stand to receive immense wealth and power from the coming devaluation of all human endeavors have collectively decided to redistribute the gains into universal income and lives of leisure for society at large.
Bittersweet discovery indeed. No credit given to the mathematicians who did the year's worth of research aside from a "you can't prove we copied you" (and we never will, bc you can't see our systems) in a separate quote-tweet to bury its attribution
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.
The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.
The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

>math professor spends a year on one of the hardest unsolved problems in math
>"Navier-Stokes"
>his drafts for the whole project went through codex sessions
>openai had his logs in codex
>suddenly rumor leaks AI solved it
>he emails openai to ask what's going on
>openai calls within days
>"funny story, our model also solved it"
>using his exact approach
>asks openai: did you train on my sessions?
>no answer

The GDP row is routine news for anyone who's been paying attention since 2014. Withholding HCES 2017-18, faulty deflators, failure to deflate inputs and outputs separately, outdated sectoral weights, firing the uncompromising, filling PM's EAC with jokers...it's endless.

I don't know Mr. Garg nor do I know enough about the subject matter, but it is still interesting to see the anchor's response is to be personally anguished and then mount an angry defence, rather than probe a little more about his claims, ask for more details, cross-check stuff.
Replying to @Pooja_Tripathii
SC Garg, Former Finance & EA Secy (2017-2019) says in NDTV that GDP is 2.6%, not 7.8%

Sorry Zubair, just couldn’t bear that sloppy poster, so designed a slightly better one. Please use this?
Details and QR are the same
Terrible dog grooming service from @wesploot. Groomer Dhanush deeply cut & hid it, leading to infection. Sploot refuses full reimbursement for the initial treatment, much less daily follow ups. Not even accounting for the emotional and time cost for everyone, especially Carbon
