Unexpected side effect of Trump’s mugshot being released is that I now have a pretty comprehensive list of which friends: 1. Think fat bodies are disgusting. 2. Think that being fat is worth more derision than trying to overthrow the government.

If you’re enjoying Barbenheimer, which could bring in as much as $200 million in ONE WEEKEND, supporting the strike fund for the people who made it will help them in their fight to get paid fairly. Here’s some info on the funds that could use your help. laist.com/news/arts-and-ente…

Curious to hear what the “queers should just move to places with better laws” crowd has to say about the fact that a mile away from me, in the town that we picked for its legal protections and queer families, someone burned 15+ pride flags. washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/…

This year, my husband and I took our kid to her first Pride parade. We also did something that I haven’t had to do in 15 years: We prepped by planning escape routes and hiding places. michelletea.substack.com/p/a…

This sweet little essay on why poor people are “asylum seekers” but rich men are “explorers” made me tear up by the second paragraph. homeculture.substack.com/p/t…

What a cool and fun day! Businesses can deny me service any time they clock me as queer, and also I owe $10,000.

The professional thing to do is have Big Policy Opinions, but the reality is that I (and millions of other people) am just sitting here waiting to find out whether or not I owe $10,000.

I was feeling really smug about my parenting today, right up until the moment when the kid asked if babies are born with horns.

I’ve been looking for an hour and still don’t understand. Do butterflies and paisley provide some sort of structure that I don’t know about?
How hard would it be, really, to make inclusive sized swimwear where the prints aren’t hideous?

Such important research: “users who are cut off from their supply will go into withdrawal and their tolerance will go down, putting them at higher risk of overdose when they find a new—sometimes unknown supplier—selling drugs with an unknown potency.” vice.com/en/article/7kxxme/c…

I just discovered that in a pinch, a magic eraser makes a passable nail buffer. I don’t know who to tell but I’m positive that this will be life changing for at least one other person.

I have never once heard a queer person say “love is love.” It’s not about love. It’s about whether or not you think LGBTQ people deserve basic rights, health care, and equal protection under the law. Hope that helps while everyone is planning their signs and statements.

Since the East Coast is all learning about AQI for the first time, can we please agree that it shouldn’t escalate from red to purple to maroon? Maroon is a combination of red and purple, so it goes in between them! THAT’S HOW COLOR GRADIENTS WORK.
