Micheal Oliver on VAR, he should not be anywhere near a Liverpool game, this can not go on he’s an absolute disgrace. How a conversation regarding Isaks pull from Timber is not had, is beyond me…. Head butt on Macca, you can’t do that when on a yellow card already, I swear to god if I ever see him in person I’m going to tell him to his face, you should not be allowed to officiate Liverpool in any capacity.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Michael Oliver was not the VAR (or involved in any capacity) for the Liverpool vs Arsenal match. Andy Madley was the referee and Stuart Attwell was the VAR. liverpoolfc.com/news/referee-a… skysports.com/football/liver… x.com/PLMatchCentre/…

When United fans realise this is the norm for them will be a great day. They literally have one good manager who won 95% of their trophies. Greatness is not ingrained in that club it was down to one man. They can't accept that.

The funniest part about all of this is how confident United fans were coming into this season

Not a finance expert but surely slide tackling the ball with your head to prevent a goal triggers the option to buy?

Remember I was first to tell you. Manchester United haven’t been able to win the league or anything of any significance since they haven’t been able to buy it. The day they couldn’t financially bulldoze every other team in Europe was the day the roof started leaking apparently. Now it’s an even playing field they are done

Klopp refused to shake Chris Kavanagh’s hand after winning the Carabao Cup in 2024. He KNEW about ALL of them, and that’s why PGMOL HATED him.

Honestly don’t think yesterday could’ve gone worse for the Prem. 62 minutes of a mostly even game, flipped for the finally 28 because of a dodgy call in favour of the team found guilty of cheating. Not exactly great for belief in the system.

What I witnessed yesterday made me seriously consider walking away from the club and the game I have loved for most of my life. Many, many supporters across the country will feel exactly the same as this farce continues. The @premierleague stands on the precipice. It must stop pretending this is just another day at the office and take urgent action now before it loses all credibility and the game we love is damaged beyond any hope of repair.
How long is the stench of the “sham” going to corrode the meaning, worth, and very essence of the Premier League? Listening to commentary about Manchester City’s players matching the defiance of their ownership and triumphing in adversity. Listening to fans chorusing the names of the men running the club, wearing masks or displaying banners of their faces and jibing: “We’re Man City, we’ll cheat when we want.” Victory being framed as “a lovely moment,” a show of togetherness as though some grave injustice has been imposed on City, rather than their hierarchy being found by an independent commission to have orchestrated financial doping on an industrial scale. Their opponents and the rest of us wondering if any of this actually matters now and how much of it ever did? There can be no business as usual pretence. We need a full stop to the absurdity.

The Premier League's descent into a farce of a season began in earnest this afternoon. What a mess. City top of a league they may be kicked out of in a few months. It felt like another bad day for English football today.

Until Manchester City are punished for nearly a decade of proven financial wrongdoing, every goal they score and every match they win this season will be meaningless. The Premier League’s credibility will continue to suffer for as long as this absolute farce is allowed to drag on.
Such a joy to watch 🪄

On the plus side for Liverpool, at least they aren't facing relegation as a result of a decade of systematic breaches of Premier League rules

What an absolute mess of a season, a complete farce. Are Manchester City in a title race or a relegation battle? Football is resilient, the PL will survive, City will survive, but this dispute is deeply damaging. The sooner the process - appeal/sanctions - decided the better.
