This is the gift of the Motion Picture Sound Editors’ annual family picnic. You get to rub elbows with legends!
Foley artists Ellen Heuer, John Roesch, and John Cucci, alongside JACK FOLEY’s granddaughter, Catherine Clark!
What a moment!!!
The impact is only the beginning.
For Battlefield 6, the sound team captured concrete breaking, metal bending, and the small debris that gives destruction its texture. The challenge was to preserve that physical character while keeping the chaos readable for the player.
In Wavelength, Garrett Montgomery MPSE speaks with the team about the recordings, creative decisions, and interactive systems behind the sound -- the topic of a packed panel at last week's GameSoundCon.

Scenes from the packed GameSoundCon mixer!
Another GameSoundCon in the books, and this may have been the best one yet. It's always a joy to see the game audio community coming together. Till next year!
We’re having an absolute blast at GameSoundCon! Stop by the MPSE booth on day two. We’ve got an original Defender arcade cabinet from 1981 that you can play. Spin the wheel to win a piece of MPSE merch. And you never know who you’ll meet there!
Our own Garrett Montgomery, MPSE presenting with Jeff Wilson on their field recording work for Battlefield 6 (to a packed house!)
If you're attending GameSoundCon, come by the booth and say hello!
