According to the Washington Sun, not a single American company has agreed to purchase the Russian diesel that was expected to enter the United States under the reported arrangement between Washington and Moscow.
The report claims that businesses consider the deal politically toxic and legally risky, fearing that participation could expose them to future investigations and serious reputational consequences.
The reported agreement and the extent of the commercial refusal have not been independently verified.
🔥 The reported resistance highlights a fundamental obstacle to restoring energy trade with Russia. Political agreements do not automatically translate into commercial transactions when companies perceive substantial legal and reputational risks.
