I followed dietary guidelines for decades. I got sick & fat. I found advice of those not paid by bigFood & bigPharma, & got well. Simple as that. You can too!

I've moved on. Thanks to everyone who taught me great things. Thanks to everyone for sympathy during the worst times. I may lurk here, but I won't be posting. So many things in my life have changed, and it's a great time to touch grass and travel with the 2nd love of my life.

In the US, BP above 120/80 considered abnormal. Only 5 categories. In Europe, BP above 140/90 considered abnormal. 7 categories. This is what happens when pharmaceutical manufacturers drive guideline production. How many Americans are over-medicated?

Apolitical observation … this obsolete cardiologist advice, c. 1987, is why people now seek answers from MAHA influencers. Sodium doesn’t raise BP, and statins have nothing to do with meat consumption (probably referring to avoiding sat fat). These tropes are so exhausting.
Cardiologist here. There’s no patient for whom I recommend daily “hunks of meat” and sauerkraut. If you take a statin a diet dense in meat is counterproductive. As for the sauerkraut, it’s high in sodium and will raise BP. The president should get his nutritional advice from his doctor, not his HHS Secretary.

Statin intolerant. On ezetimibe LDL-C dropped from 213 to 102. Cardio “you must target <50!”🤨 Says I should try a new LDL lowering drug called #Lipfendra, an "oral PSCk9i that is *PROVEN* to lower LDL!" Whether it reduces ASCVD is unknown. NO!🤬 FFS what has medicine become?
