We are delighted to share that Ipswich High School has been named “Independent Day and Boarding School of the Year - Suffolk” and has also received the National Award for “Academic Excellence 2026”. This double recognition celebrates the hard work, ambition and talent of our pupils, supported by our exceptional staff, parents, governors and wider school community. Headmaster, Mr Browning, said: “We are immensely proud to receive these prestigious awards. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our pupils and staff, and to our commitment to helping every young person achieve their personal best, develop confidence and character, and leave us prepared to make a positive contribution to society.” From excellent academic outcomes and personalised pastoral care to our broad co-curricular programme and thriving boarding provision, this recognition reflects the strength of Ipswich High School life. A huge thank you to all families and children for attending our Step Into Year 7 2027 event. It was a pleasure to welcome familiar faces from the IHS community and meet many new families considering their next educational journey with us. Among the activities on offer, pupils enjoyed creating the famous Elephant's Toothpaste experiment in our Chemistry Lab, producing an impressive eruption of foam while exploring chemical reactions and experiencing hands-on learning. We hope you enjoyed the morning as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. #StepIntoYear7 #IHSCommunity #STEMEducation #ChemistryInAction #FutureScientists

IHS Year 6 pupil, Rasmus, recently took part in the Year 7 and Year 8 Junior Mathematical Challenge and has been awarded a Gold Certificate! This is a remarkable accomplishment, particularly as he completed the paper a year early. Gold Certificates are typically awarded to the top 8% of participants nationally. Well done Rasmus; we are all very proud of you.
