I worry we're heading towards segregated mainstream provision. Children with SEND spending the majority of their day in a seperate wing or satelite hut is not inclusive. Saying the word "inclusion" enough times doesn't make it magically happen. There has to be funding, recruitment & a vision behind it. We also must recognise that some children will need specialist provision & that too needs to be properly funded.

We are awaiting news on the education secretary, Bridget Phillipson’s, plans for the #SEND system. But so far we’ve heard there will be an emphasis on inclusion within mainstream schools…
