There is nothing natural about Indian film discourse anymore. The moment you criticize a film, it becomes a conspiracy, and suddenly you’re part of some imaginary group running a smear campaign against it. Even when the criticism has nothing to do with the actors involved, all the die hard stans start crying in the comments 😭
I can’t completely blame them, though, when production companies in India are WAYYY too reliant on PR campaigns. This kind of environment seriously affects film discourse, especially around movies like #Ramayana where both the positives AND the negatives are equally important to discuss
Certain audiences in India would much rather have reviewers take money and praise every movie coming out than actual hear other people’s perspectives

For those posting screenshots of older ratings and comparing: As I already stated, Post May 2026, the rating scale used has changed to maintain consistency so they won’t match up
For those spamming the report button: Chill, it’s merely an opinion. One opinion doesn’t dictate a films result
Reading some of the tweets about Dune makes it painfully clear why Herbert back then and Denis now feel the need to spoon-feed the audience its message
As a huge fan of RDR 2, he’s really not wrong here. It’s a valid critique of the game. Idk why so many ppl are butthurt in the comments
Idk why #Ramayana is being dubbed in English. Western audiences don’t need a movie to be dubbed to appreciate it. Parasite, despite winning Best Picture, still hasn’t been dubbed in English. Do we not value our own language and culture enough to let Western audiences experience the authenticity of a story told in its original language?
