Dan Hurley gave Tom Izzo his flowers for the culture he’s built at Michigan State:
“For us as a program, we usually feel like we go into games with a culture and toughness advantage… and I just try to make it clear with the players, there’s no culture advantage when you play Michigan State.”
“Coach Izzo and staff, those guys are soldiers. It’s like a program we try and emulate”

This says it all about Tom Izzo and @MSU_Basketball. Really powerful.
Michigan State journalism student Elliott Hammon still has the video Tom Izzo sent him before his brain tumor surgery four and a half years ago.
Hammon brought it up during Izzo’s press conference and asked how it impacts him knowing he means so much to people.
Izzo’s full response:
“It’s better than winning.”
“What people think of you, how you can inspire people. I mean, that’s why I’m here. Some people jump around and go to different jobs. I want to be a part of the fabric of this place, and I want to be a guy that people can come to.
“If that tape, or that video, or phone call helped you… (pounds chest) that’s awesome.”

Hang it in the louvre.
MSU AD Dan Bartholomae tells @TonyPaul1984 he had no issue with Pat Fitzgerald’s middle finger last Saturday. In fact, Dan appreciated how it got the crowd riled up.
"We are not sitting here trying to be choir children”

Here is the video Tom Izzo sent MSU journalism student Elliott Hammon when he was battling a brain tumor.
Elliott himself gave me permission to share this.
