finally had some time to begin to tackle the garden. A couple of hours yesterday cutting back an overgrown beech hedge and 2 hours this morning feeding it through a shredder. It is a start!

In Europe, we will now hear the words “wake up call”. Be sceptical of how much can be done with willpower. Europe’s political default is right authoritarianism. Europe has the same crisis of trust in institutions as the US, and a consequent strategic incapacity.
We are all in our own ways trying to handle our response to this change. Today I am trying to do housework and gardening. Do not intend listening to much news!

slightly relaxing now that we have the cat back home from a long and difficult day at the vets. 10 teeth extracted. He was ravenous when he got home. Hungry enough to accept soft food - when he normally only wants biscuits. A few difficult days ahead. medication will not be fun.
