a quick updated thread of my ebooks if anyone would like a grimmichi fic in these trying ao3 times
since it’s a decent time to remind people these exist, here are my grimmichi ebooks w cover art and contents page:
cat dandy: tinyurl.com/catdandy
cat scratch fever: tinyurl.com/cat-scratch-feve…
the fistening (semi recent grimmichi one-shots): tinyurl.com/fistening
this place has admittedly been draining my joy and whimsy lately, bc i catch myself feeling extra crispy when i read certain takes on here. i'm going to hit the door for a bit! love you, bye
the ao3 outage distracted me a lot, but i just caught myself thinking "new bleach ep soon at least" and then remembered
in truth, the bitterness of a lot of these writers and their anti-reader attitude comes down to something different altogether: "why isn't my fic as popular as *that* fic? why isn't my writing as popular as *their* writing?"
problem is, the readers aren't at fault.
so if you are in fact an author who cares about the numbers, the status, the kudos counts, the comments, the length of comments, and lets it get to you so badly you're tweeting noxious resentment into the void, it could be time to change your thinking.
it's the coy little hair comb, glance away for me...but it's like a cat showing you its fluffy belly 😐
in all this, i wish smaller authors saw the opportunity those drives present. 90% of the fics drowning out your own works aren't available. there's no sort by kudos or comments or hits, there's just titles, your name, the url to your profile for later, and word of mouth
what do you write? who are you? start a hashtag train! #ao3authors or #ao3intros or genuinely whatever you want. get your name out there when all the other noise is cut away. just don't alienate your readers by turning to bitterness. i promise, the good ones are watching you too.
