ANDREW AND TRISTAN TATE ARE BEING DENIED DUE PROCESS. My clients were arrested on 18 July and placed in solitary confinement. Their bail application is due 5 August. The Government seeks continued detention at a hearing on 13 August. The United Kingdom has not produced its full extradition package and does not intend to until 16 September. They are not ready to prove anything, but they are ready to take liberty, imprisoning two American citizens in a cell at American taxpayers' expense. The process has been weaponized into punishment. Deprivation of liberty before the requesting state has even bothered to produce the complete materials on which extradition supposedly rests. Punishment before conviction is not due process. It is unconscionable. The United Kingdom says it is trial-ready. Then why is it not ready to submit its request and supporting papers? Put up or shut up. Is the United States Constitution still the most powerful document in the world? America First cannot mean taking liberty first and justifying it two months later.

The conditions Andrew and Tristan Tate are being held in are a disgrace. Small filthy cell. Cockroaches. Shower water to drink. No chair. Lights they cannot control. Food that makes Taco Bell look like a Michelin restaurant. Beds too small for men who are 6’3” and 6’5”. Three days outside since the day they were locked up. This is not punishment after conviction. It is illegal punishment that violates their constitutional and human rights. And for what? Anonymous accusers and unpopular speech? Show me the man and l'll show you the crime. You do not have to like them to oppose this brand of barbarism. What the state does to one man it can do to anyone, including you. This is evil. Every decent person should be speaking out.
