"Tá sé ráite go bhfuil sé in am ag rialtas na hÉireann agus rialtas na Breataine teacht le chéile chun deireadh a chur leis an mbac a bhíonn ar dhaoine ó thuaidh féachaint ar ábhar ar RTÉ agus TG4."
"Ritheadh rún i dTionól Thuaisceart Éireann aréir ag léiriú imní faoin tionchar a bhíonn ag an geo-bhlocáil ar dhaoine go háirithe nuair a chuirtear bac orthu cláir Ghaeilge agus ócáidí móra spóirt a fheiceáil."

Thanks to @Independent_ie @MediahuisIRL for devoting so much space to my memorial piece on my recent visit to Aberfan , where 144 died 60 years ago tomorrow in a totally avoidable man made tragedy .

The most moving moment of this summer was 25 people reading the names of the children who were born in Bessborough & died at the gates of the former institution. We will keep fighting to get to the truth of what happened to hundreds of children after they died. The lands need to be scanned, high resolution LIDAR used and test trenches to establish burials….. but for now we have stopped the diggers going in.

There I am now ...
with eight of my twelve siblings.
My mother once said I was five years of age before my feet touched the ground - being passed from one of my sister to the next - I guess that explains why I'm shoeless ... Cx

I spoke to Claire Byrne this morning about the results of a survey indicating remarkable public demand for children to be able to cycle safely to school. We’re not meeting that demand, we’re not even close. Imagine if we did.
A “generational collapse” in children cycling to school is because it is “simply not safe” for pupils to travel by bike, Cycling Ireland has argued.

1960 photograph of Smithfield in Dublin, taken by Swedish photographer Berndt Klyvare, before dereliction took hold on King Street in the background.
Below is a webpage I built to highlight dereliction in Ireland, propose solutions, and showcase heritage buildings and structures at risk. The page includes quick facts, a summary, history and ownership, a dated photographic decline log, planning/enforcement history, vacancy/dereliction signals, reuse potential, recommended next actions, open questions, and sources.

It would make a wonderful museum!
It’s a shame to see No. 42 Upper O’Connell Street lying vacant since the 1980's. It is the last surviving intact mid-eighteenth-century townhouse on the street, and the sole remnant of Luke Gardiner’s 1750s Sackville Mall development. Given its national significance and its role as the last Georgian house on the street, it would be great if it were used for cultural or museum purposes such as a “time capsule” akin to the award-winning 14 Henrietta Street.
