Cruising Minnesota + Wisconsin Driftless area provides endless exploring possibilities. Fire up fav playlist, start cruisin' along one of the rivers, choose a backroad that branches off up the bluffs & you'll find something. Havent been here before. Nugget Lake County Park & Dam
I have become very familiar with The Great River Road in Minnesota, Wisconsin & Iowa over last 15 years & the endless possibilities for side road adventures. Nothing better than cruising the river to a curated playlist, looking for the next side quest. Still impresses every time

Been told a few times my lack of a real camera will hold me back. This only said by ppl w $10k+ in gear who are annoyed that my photos (taken only w phone, tripod & flashlight) get selected for exhibitions & get 1000s of likes in Aurora groups 🤷‍♂️ lol It is the artist 💯 not 📷
Photographers who say "gear doesn't matter" genuinely irk me lol yeah man I'm sure your 50mm is completely indistinguishable from a $2000 600mm telephoto lens the size of a farm animal

I stopped at the new downtown St. Paul Aldi. It was my first time ever in an Aldi but I was converted into an Aldi guy within 2 min. The same list of basic staple groceries at Target, Walmart or Cub usually costs me over $40 but I just paid $17. Yea, I get it now. Awesome.

Failed Orionids meteor shower photo from last night. My meteor shower bad luck continues. I saw a few big fireball meteors over an hour but never in front of the camera. Of course. We'll try again. – at Minnesota, USA

Thr brightest star in sky, Sirius aka Dog Star aka α CMa is TWINKLING SO HARD right now. "Scintillation" if youre fancy. Visible below/left of Orion ~1-7am. See it's flamboyant sparkle shift white/red/green/blue🕺🐕 Extra twinkley in fall 🍂✨️ Bonus fact: planets dont twinkle

I see Victor Wooten every single time he comes to play. I suggest you do same. In 2014, at Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis. A few mins after show starts, PRINCE walks (floats) by me, sits at his private table (table #299, btw) to enjoy show. Genius recognizes genius.
Good morning. This video is 15 years old and to this day when I watch it, I rest my chin on my hand so my jaw doesn’t hit the fucking ground. Victor Wooten is not to be trifled with.🐐

Vermillion Falls easily in the top 3 parks within 30min of the Twin Cities. Maybe the best. The karst geology with the waterfall, caves, river gorge and old mill ruins makes for very fun exploring. The fall colors can be great here except I'm a week or 2 late. Still beautiful. – at Hastings, MN

Weirdest part abt You Can See Everything is the audience reaction You learn a lot abt ppl sitting next to you So much laughing when nothing funny happening, others are vocally hostile to AS. (She does nothing at all to warrant that reaction) It is a strange theater experience – at St Paul, MN
Amanda Seyfried comes across a a total bitch and less sympathetic than Elizabeth Holmes in You Can See Everything.

Been saying it for years. Every human on earth has seen same night sky for our entire existence...up until now. 📸 Brendan Larsen, demonstrates here what 2 hours (only 2 hrs!) under current night sky looks like w all the satellites polluting our view. It'll get worse every week
One of dirty little secrets in astronomy is that beautiful view of the night sky is literally being ruined. The # of satellites will soon increase exponentially. We are last generation that will have anything close to same view that ancient Egyptians had. Look up while you can.

I saw the Elizabeth Holmes "You Can See Everything" doc last night. Brilliant imo. Not what I expected. Worried abt it being 3 hours but I was locked in. Now I'm invested and have more questions than before. Ppl are weird, dude. If you're interested, dont read abt it. Just go.

Fun reminder that all the conservative Metallica fans lost their fckin moron minds when the new Minnesota flag was displayed at both Minneapolis concerts. "Metallica sucks" was the theme on MN MAGA Twitter that weekend. – at St Paul, MN

Aurora pumpkins 🎃 over the Kettle River last night. The aurora we were expecting arrived yesterday but by the time it was dark in North America, she fizzled out on us. This was about as good as it got. Beautiful night but disappointing relative to what we saw during the day

I carry emergency pumpkins. Just in case the aurora doesn't live up to the hype and I need to spice up the pics 🤷‍♂️🎃 – at West St Paul, MN

This train bridge was one of the pics I wanted to get last night with the (much stronger) aurora blasting in the background...😭 I will get it someday! Look close on top of the track in the first pic. You can see the ghost of a BNSF train flying by during the long exposure. – at St Paul, MN

Cool thing about northern Minnesota is that whenever the aurora doesn't live up to the forecast, there are plenty of other options for pretty pictures. – at Minnesota, USA
