Twitter was good to me. It is no longer what it was. I’m here if you need me, but it’s probably best if you find me elsewhere. @mward@mastodon.cloud

This is actually THE victoria sponge; one tube carriage on the victoria line must be carrying it at all times for the network to function. It symbolises the queen, much like the mace in parliament.

It's a food chain. Ek is small fry for Apple. Spotify, like Apple, tries to take ownership of things they don't own. I don't feel a thing for him. I hope Apple burns Spotify to the ground.
Apple continues to disadvantage competitors, and the impact is huge - on consumers, app developers, and now, authors and publishers. Without policymakers taking action, nothing will change. I can’t be the only one who sees the absurdity nytimes.com/2022/10/25/busin…
Yeah, he sucks. But so do most of the people who’ve been in charge of this place before. We’ve never been here here for them — we’re here for our community, our friends, our peers. I’m choosing to focus on the good parts of what’s here. As long as they remain, so will I.

I'm going to start to refer to things that happened before yesterday as Elizabethan, might be useful... Journal: "you agreed to review this paper last week" Me: "yeah but that was during the Elizabethan era, they were different times"

I think this is right. Learning math is like learning a language. You’d never say “I’m just intrinsically bad at German.” We might not all be able to be Goethe but we can all be literate. The Myth of 'I'm Bad at Math' - The Atlantic theatlantic.com/education/ar…
