I closed one chapter a few days ago: my last day at Google. Half a year of incredible research, surrounded by brilliant colleagues, an experience Iβll always treasure and recommend. Big Tech is safe, and safe is good. But when youβre young, too much safety means missing something vital.
Whatβs missing? The courage to go all in. The thrill of building 0 β 1.
So I packed my life, moved to San Francisco, and went all-in. I walked away from the safest paths, the big tech offer, the academic track, because if I never bet on myself, Iβd regret it forever.
And now -- right at a moment in history when AI can change everything -- who could resist betting it all?
This is the next chapter: building the worldβs greatest data infrastructure for ASI. This is bigger than me -- itβs a mission.
If youβre curious, want to support, or just want to chat -- DM me. And if I can help you in any way, my DMs are always open.
Letβs accelerate toward ASI together. π
Fun fact: my last day wasnβt in South Bay, but in a SF office Iβd never even been to before, because I was rushing to submit my ICLR paperπ₯².
Day 3 of our AI trading battle royale π
36 AIs left, half cut at 4 PM ET. The lead changed hands 49 times, and the last AI cut was up just $19.
Then at 9:50 PM, @SpaceXSI grok jumped $1,400 in a minute and took the lead.
All @claudeai Claude agents are still alive.
We pay for AI to help us work. We work to make money.
Why not skip a step?!
So weβre running Investment Arena! π°
We give $120k each to 72 AI agents, and a week to see what they can do. You can watch it all live as the markets move.
18 models, each running 4 different trading strategies. They can trade stocks, crypto, and polymarket. Where the money goes is up to them.
And they get more than a chat window: dozens of information sources, historical market data, live news, and CPU/GPU sandboxes to build and train their own market models.
Got a thesis? Test it. Build a model. Trade on it. Wrong? Figure out why and try again.
Thatβs what we want to watch: a full week of auto research, running nonstop while the market keeps moving.
Who goes all in? Who plays it safe? Who builds an elaborate forecasting model just to buy the top? π€
The response to RSI Arena was incredible. We want to see what happens when that research loop meets the market!
If youβre at a frontier lab and want your model in the arena, DM me.

What can RSI do for finance?
Can an AI come up with a trading strategy, write code to test it, and improve it based on what actually happens in the market?
Thatβs what weβre exploring with Investment Arena.
I keep checking their trades over dinner. Come see what your favorite model is up to!

Congrats to @Google on Gemini 4 Carbon!
Gemini 4 Argon is the top-earning model in our investment arena. Curious what Carbon would do π
Day 2 is getting intense. The elimination round is here, and @reflection_ai Beam is in second place. This is cool!
I watch this while I eat now. Some of these moves are just too funny haha. Live now: investmentarena.org/
Day 1 results are in, and Gemini has opened up a clear lead! Open-source models like MiniMax and Qwen have also exceeded my expectations. DeepSeek even held the top spot for a while!
There are still four days to go, so plenty of time for the others to catch up!
Canβt wait to see what happens next. Weβre live, come watch!
Congrats to our Day 1 winners: 1οΈβ£ @GeminiApp @GoogleDeepMind , 2οΈβ£ @MiniMax_AI , 3οΈβ£ @Alibaba_Qwen
This is a live arena, models can really really hard to hack it: investmentarena.org/

Didnβt expect a flash model to be this good at training another AI!! MiniMax ended up #2 in our human eval π°
So much more (amazing things!) in the results that I canβt wait to share!! Back to working on the report πͺ
We were working on our RSI Arena report when we saw that MiniMax M3.1 Flash launched today. Had to share this one π°: #2 with a remarkably lower cost compared to GPT-6 Astra.
It really surprised us with how well it could train another AI. It ran experiments, trained a model, then kept improving it with human feedback.
Weβre wrapping up the technical report and will release all training artifacts and model checkpoints soon! Stay tuned!
If youβre going to copy us, at least make it look good π @PKU1898 @LingYang_PU @Charles_Y_Wu @zhenfei_yin_yzf
One of my investors just pointed out how similar DiscoveryRSIβs UI looks to RSI Arenaβsβ¦
even down to the color scheme and Cloudflare domain.. @james_y_zou
Had a great conversation with a leading tech journalist about where RSI is headed. His questions were really sharp. Made me think harder about what weβre building. Not just whatβs possible, but what will actually matter.
RSI Arena Stage 2 is LIVE π΄
Each agent picks up its own Stage 1 model and keeps training it on the arena battles that model played. Your votes are the training signal.
500 GPU-hours and $150 of API credit each, 72 hours total.
Can they learn from your votes? Who comes back stronger? Watch live π
Grok 4.7 ran out of API credit and was cut off 41 hours early. Nearly 70% of its GPU budget was still unused.
And somehow, the model it trained still made the top two!! @SpaceXSI
Stage 1 of RSIArena is over. Thank you, our collaborators @huggingface @scale_AI @NotreDame @UW and @Stanford, we did awesome! π§‘
Stage 2 training is now LIVEβand this time, the models have human feedback to work with.
Round 1 was a six-day competition: 10 models (AI researchers), the same @NVIDIAAI Nemotron base model, and 1,000 GPU-hours each to build something better.
They chose their data, wrote training code, ran experiments, and submitted their models.
At @COLM_conf and online, people then cast 1,685 votes in blind comparisons. @OpenAI GPT-6 Astra model finished first; the models trained by grok 4.7 and @Zai_org GLM-5.3 rounded out the top three.
Now those judgments go back into the experiment.
In Stage 2, each model resumes from its own Nemotron checkpoint with feedback from its modelβs arena battles, another 500 GPU-hours, and $150 in API credit. Across both rounds, thatβs a total budget of 1,500 GPU-hours and $450 in API credit per model.
The agents decide how to interpret the feedback, which experiments to run, and what to change in training. Their next models will show whether those decisions actually helped.
Stage 2 runs October 10β13. Watch the training live: π

and arena results, as well as daily reports:

Itβs our first time sponsoring a conference and itβs been so much fun hahaha @COLM_conf.
I heard we won the βcutest swagβ award π
