“In under half an hour, Claude discovered the origins of the NIST P-192, P-224, P-256, P-384 and P-521 seeds. None of them were the results of any hash algorithm at all, but rather the output of the C library’s lrand48 random-number generator, seeded with a Unix timestamp!” ☠️

1/ Today we’re releasing Aerie: fast post-quantum signature aggregation, using lattice-based SNARKs for lattice-based Falcon signatures. On a laptop (CPU only), it aggregates roughly a full Ethereum slot’s worth of signatures (32,768) in 0.65 seconds.
Reviewer 2: “The paper, although interesting, does not have the required level of formalism for this conference”

“I ran <best internal model> for N trillion tokens at <frontier lab> and it couldn’t even dent <fundamental assumption>” should automatically get Best Paper at CRYPTO/Eurocrypt.
The real question is: When will we have a Polymarket link to bet on what is broken first?
Which one do you think will be the first victim?

This literally feels like the type of shortcut an AI model takes when given a serious task
Replying to @ShaneOnChain @BiasGoose
Because management was told the wallet was non-custodial and we were not aware the staking flow transmitted seeds to the backend. We learned that from XRPL.to’s decompilation and have already said so publicly.
That is exactly why we’re demanding a full documented explanation from the developers who built it.
My flight from Lisbon to Miami got diverted to Fort Myers (FL) ~2h ago. We’re about to take off and head back to Miami airport (now reopened)
There are approximately 100 flights inbound to Miami International Airport right now. 84 flights have been diverted so far following the runway overrun by a 21 Air 767. flightradar24.com/airport/mi…

Wow… unreal article! What’s next for AI-powered cryptanalysis?
Should we move focus to Post-AI Cryptography instead of Post-Quantum Cryptography?

Great read if you are curious and want to learn more about (real!) ZK! Really nice slides explaining the concept(s) clearly and in a very elegant manner
This thread is so good! Great work guys! Love this result
Excited to share the new frontier of reducing hash-based SNARKs proof size: a post-quantum secure lightweight black-box technique to reduce proof size to 60% of the original one!

What if we focus on the ‘ZK’-rollup term instead? Since that actually implies something very different than what it actually accomplishes and/or uses…
“We don’t have privacy, we use ZK for scaling”
Instead of calling them "centralized sequencers" we should call them "single sequencers"
A single sequencer is not "centralized" because it can still preserve most of the key qualities of decentralized systems such as:
- verifiability
- liveness
- permissionlessness
It only sacrifices censorship resistance but even then it can still inherit some CR from the L1 via mechanisms like inboxes
TL;DR single sequencers can still be very decentralized, so calling them "centralized" is a psyop

Great work by Craig Gidney: reduction of his widely quoted estimate for factoring RSA-2048 from 20 million noisy qubits to 1 million. This kind of advances are in line with predictions from experts that factoring RSA-2048 could be feasible by 2040. arxiv.org/abs/2505.15917
