Ukrainian Defenders evacuated 8 civilians from Lyman, shielding them from a Russian drone with their own bodies. Among the rescued civilians were an elderly woman, three wheelchair-bound individuals with disabilities, and a man with a severe leg wound. Everyone was successfully brought to safety. During the evacuation, a strike and search team operated on the ground, including French and American legionnaires: "Flash," "Cowboy," "Spud," "Chandra," and "Fanta." Aerial reconnaissance monitored the routes from above, warning of enemy ambushes. Logistics and the river crossing on MaxxPro armored vehicles were provided by a mortar battery and an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) unit. At the final stage, a Russian FPV drone spotted and attacked the group. However, one of the fighters shielded the civilians with his body, sustaining severe injuries.
