The truth about tokens
Launching a token can be the best marketing on the planet. It makes useless products appear world changing.
Grifters know this. There鈥檚 a token attached to all the obvious grifts like FTT and LUNA and the more subtle VC pump and dumps. Too many to name.
Builders also know this so they focus on building a useful product first. Without a truly useful product the token is easy come, easy go.
Token comes later with time. It鈥檚 too valuable as a marketing tool and to align incentives between team and users to ignore. But if you launch it too soon or hype it up too much then it鈥檚 dead on arrival.
when projects in a crowded market try to differentiate you end up with ripping packs to get a prediction market position on a crypto up/down market

for so many of them to come out and criticize the lack of clear communication and repeated token teasing is big.
i hope the team takes this seriously and finally gives us some real transparency.
the defi town hall that @shayne_coplan announced is the obvious place to reset expectations. if there is a plan for $POLY, tell us. if there isn鈥檛, say that too.

This is my thesis: no one uses AI. I repeat, absolutely no one. We live in a bubble.
Even among my friends who pay for it, when I ask them to open ChatGPT and show me their queries, it鈥檚 the same handful of basic things.
Most don鈥檛 even know they can upload a photo and ask questions about it. Connecting Gmail so an agent can read and send emails blows their minds. An agent opening a browser and checking them into a flight? They鈥檝e never even heard of it.
The massive challenge right now is adoption, and then getting people who already signed up to actually use what they鈥檙e paying for. Most have absolutely zero clue what鈥檚 possible.
Imagine the compute shortage when everyone starts using AI like the top 1% of users do today.

馃毃 JUST IN: Polymarket confirms chain migration still planned, other fixes and improvements first.
Some were wondering if the chain migration, announced by @devjoshstevens a while ago, was still going to happen after the team had some positive words about Polygon. @0xdanzu confirms they are still working on it but other improvements currently have higher priority.
I appreciate the team keeping the community up to date and hope this continues.
