When Kiara LeBlanc called to tell me she and her mother, Kate, were starting Lifted Movement, I was 100% in. š¤
I had the pleasure of working with Kate, co-founder of Saje Natural Wellness, and Kiara as they grew the business into a beloved wellness brand, ultimately achieving a significant exit. Their success speaks for itself, but what has always inspired me is how deeply personal the work is for them. They have dedicated their lives to wellness, and Lifted feels like such an authentic next step.
Our relationship has always meant so much to me. Kate and Kiara are two powerhouses whose vision, passion and care Iāve experienced firsthand. When the opportunity came to become an investor in Lifted, it was an easy yes.
Part of what we do at NKPR is invest in brands and businesses we believe in, and itās a part of our work I love. Thereās something especially meaningful about supporting people you know, admire and trust as they bring a new idea to life.
With Lifted, Kate and Kiara are bringing beautifully designed fitness equipment into our everyday spaces, making movement something we can weave into our day. I have their pieces at home and at the NKPR office, where our team will often pick up the weights between meetings. When movement is within reach, it becomes easier to make time for it.
I loved sitting down with both of them to talk about what inspired Lifted, their personal relationship with movement and what weāre building together. So proud to be part of it. šŖšŖ

1 Marlborough opens its presentation gallery to members of the local community for the first time. Weāre proud at NKPR Social to celebrate this milestone with our client partners, Dorsay Developments and @DevronDev. š¤
Located where Rosedale and Summerhill meet, this collection of residences brings together so much of what I love about real estate: beautiful architecture, thoughtful design and a meaningful connection to the neighbourhood.
What makes this address especially interesting is its history. Originally a Pierce-Arrow automobile showroom and later home to CBC studios, the heritage building is beginning a new chapter. Making it even more special for me is having our client partner AUDAX behind the architecture and interiors. Architect Gianpiero Pugliese and his team are thoughtfully restoring its distinctive arches and stonework, carrying that architectural character into the new design.
With residences ranging from 2,000 to over 8,000 square feet, generous proportions and beautifully considered interiors, thereās a timelessness to the vision that really resonates with me. I love seeing projects that honour Torontoās history while contributing something beautiful to its future.
Congratulations to the entire team on this milestone. To learn more or book a private appointment, visit 1marlborough.com. š¤

š¤ Made with AI
AI is changing the way we work. What does that mean for the way we think? š
In the latest episode of @dontjusttalksaysomething, @tarynincanada and I sit down with our friend, radio and television personality @Taylor_Kaye , for a candid conversation about life and work in the AI era.
We talk about the opportunities AI creates and what it means to think for ourselves in an increasingly automated world. How do we make the most of these tools while continuing to draw on our creativity, experience and judgment? And when does a useful resource become a crutch?
And while we have plenty of opinions about AI, we couldnāt resist finding out what it thinks of us. We each ask ChatGPT for its most honest take⦠tune in to hear what it had to say. š

An exciting new chapter for Torontoās rental landscape, and one Iām especially proud to see our clients
DBS developments and Stafford homes bring to life! š¤
The two have announced their second strategic partnership, with plans for a new luxury purpose-built rental community in the heart of Forest Hill.
Located at 429 Walmer Road, just steps from Forest Hill Village, the 27-storey development will feature more than 220 thoughtfully designed residences, with spacious layouts, beautiful design and amenities that elevate everyday living.
What I love about projects like this is the vision behind them. Great residential communities are about so much more than beautiful spaces. Theyāre about creating places where people feel at home, with thoughtful details, quality and a real sense of community.
Building on the success of DBS Developmentsā 2Fifteenliving community, this partnership is another exciting step forward in redefining luxury rental living in Toronto.
Congratulations to both teams on this milestone! So proud to work alongside partners who continue to bring such thoughtful projects to our city. š¤

October is Menopause Awareness Month, and Iām so glad weāre finally having more open conversations about womenās health. š
I want to shine a spotlight on my dear friend, Dr. Dixon, Founder, CEO and Medical Director of Anova fertility, who is helping lead these important conversations.
For over 30 years, Dr. Dixon has dedicated her career to advocating for womenās health, breaking down barriers to care and empowering women with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their bodies.
What I admire most is her commitment to ensuring women feel informed, supported and confident through every stage of life, including menopause.
Iāve always believed that the more honestly we share our experiences, the more we can learn from and support one another.
Every woman deserves to feel heard, understood and cared for through every stage of life. š
Thank you, Dr. Dixon, for continuing to move these important conversations forward!

Last night was about so much more than launching a book. It was a celebration of a life, a family and the many people Dr. Steve Gupta has touched along the way. ā¤ļø
More than 300 guests came together in Toronto to celebrate his memoir, From Floor to Fortune, including Ontario Premier @fordnation and former Prime Minister @stephenharper. Seeing so many people gathered to honour him reflected the relationships he has built over more than five decades in Canada.
Steve Paikin brought warmth, humour and thoughtful questions to their conversation about the stories behind the book, while Reetu Guptaās heartfelt tribute to her dad reminded us of the family at the centre of it all.
Dr. Gupta arrived in Canada from India with $108 in his pocket and went on to build an extraordinary life alongside his beloved wife, Rashmi. What stayed with me most while reading the book was how he built that life, with family, relationships, integrity, community and giving back at the heart of it. Last night, so much of what I had been reading came to life in that room.
Dr. Gupta said he wanted to spread love that evening, and you could feel it everywhere. It was a beautiful way to honour everything he and Rashmi created together.
Iām so proud that NKPR had the opportunity to help bring this evening to life, and grateful to our team and everyone behind the scenes for the care they put into it.
Congratulations to Dr. Gupta, the Gupta family and the entire @theguptagroup team. A beautiful celebration of the book and a life very well lived. ā¤ļø
From Floor to Fortune is available for pre-order now and will be released October 20, with all proceeds from book sales donated to the Gupta Family Foundation.

Iām incredibly proud to serve on the board of Womenās College Hospital Foundation, especially at such an important moment for the future of healthcare. š¤
Two weeks ago marked the brand launch of The Future Follows Us, a reflection of Womenās College Hospitalās remarkable legacy and a statement about where itās going next.
For more than 140 years, Womenās College Hospital has pushed healthcare forward, from research centred on women to care designed around what people actually need. That same spirit of innovation and possibility continues to shape its future.
Itās such an honour to serve alongside a leader like Sandra Sualim, President and CEO of the Womenās College Hospital Foundation. Sandra leads with clarity, purpose and vision, while bringing people together around a shared belief in what healthcare can become.Ā
There is still so much work to do, but also so much possibility ahead, and Iām grateful to be part of a community of incredible leaders working to create a healthier future for generations to come.

We love working with F.U.M Imports at NKPR - and as someone who loves sour gummies, Iām always happy to sample whatās new!
Their Wellibites and Diablo Sugar Free treats have become favourites around the office, so I was excited to share them with our IT House guests during #TIFF26 š¤š¬
Cynthia Erivo, Christopher Briney, Rebel Wilson, Amanda Seyfried and so many others stopped by between interviews and festival events to discover new treats and compare favourite candies. And with puppies there to greet them, it was quite the welcome. Puppies and candy⦠we do know how to make our industry guests feel welcome š¶š¾
From Sweden, Wellibitesā fruit-forward gummies have that satisfying chew I love, and theyāre gluten-free and sugar-free without compromising on taste. Alongside British brand Diablo Sugar Free, they gave our guests plenty of new favourites to discover, and the reactions in this recap say it all.
Thank you to the F.U.M Imports team. We love working with you, and having you join us as a sponsor partner of #NKPRIT26 made one of our favourite weeks even sweeter. š¤š

A little look behind the scenes at a month that brought us the launch of Motorcycle Life, #NKPRIT26, #TorontoLife #BestDressed, #Hello!, Hollywood North and @ArtistsForPeace, and so many memories together.
Iām so grateful for the energy, creativity and heart our team brings to everything we do. So much goes into a month like this, and their dedication to our client partners and the agency, along with the way they support one another, makes me incredibly proud.
Looking through these photos reminds me how lucky I am to work alongside this group. I couldnāt be prouder of what we accomplished, or more grateful for the people I get to share it with. xx

Itās launch week for Motorcycle Life, and I couldnāt be prouder of @EricHendrikx š¤šļø
The book is officially out today. Tonight, weāre celebrating at @Taglialatella in Toronto; on Thursday, Eric will be in conversation with our dear friend Suzanne Boyd, an accomplished editor, publisher and writer, at Indigo Bay & Bloor.
Eric has been telling remarkable stories for years. His work has appeared in publications including Rolling Stone, Menās Journal and Robb Report, and his books have taken him from the world of music to the front lines of conservation. Iāve always admired the way he listens to people, understands what matters most to them and brings their stories to life in ways that inspire and move readers.
With Motorcycle Life, he brings that gift to one of his greatest passions. Through the stories of more than 100 riders around the world, he explores freedom, resilience, identity and the connections people find on two wheels. Iāve watched the conversations, the writing and the care heās put into this book. Seeing it in his hands has been incredibly moving.
After this week, the celebrations continue with events across the U.S. Eric, I know how much of yourself you gave to this book, and Iām so proud to see it out in the world. I canāt wait for everyone to experience it. š„°
Published by @artisanbooks, an imprint of @HBGCanada, Motorcycle Life is available now at bookstores worldwide and on Amazon.

With Menopause Awareness Month coming up in October, Taryn Fisher, Shari Koffman and I are revisiting a conversation that deserves more attention: perimenopause. Shari has been so open about her experience, and in this clip, we talk about why speaking openly matters - and why finding the right experts matters just as much.
I learned this firsthand when I developed frozen shoulder. I went to a physiotherapist who treated it as though Iād worked out too hard. I had no idea it could be connected to perimenopause. Dr. Marjorie Dixon, my dear friend and go-to expert on hormones and menopause, helped me understand that connection. Who knew? I certainly didnāt.
The more we share what weāre experiencing, the better equipped we are to ask questions and get the support we need.
If you havenāt listened yet, āPerimenopause: A Conversation No Oneās Havingā is available now wherever you get your podcasts. š§

Last yearās @artistsforpeace was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together with one shared purpose: creating opportunity through education.
As we prepare for our 18th Annual Artists for Peace and Justice Gala, I find myself reflecting on why this night means so much to me. It is, without question, one of the most meaningful moments of my year.
For the past 18 years, Iāve had the privilege of serving as Chair of Artists for Peace and Justice, supporting an organization that believes every child deserves the chance to learn, dream and build a future. In Haiti, where nearly 70% of children do not continue beyond Grade 5, education is not simply about the classroom. It is about hope, dignity and the opportunity to build a life filled with possibility.
Together, we have helped provide access to education for more than 32,000 students and raised over $36 million to support this mission.
None of this would be possible without our incredible APJ Board, our APJ family and friends, our generous sponsor partners, our dedicated volunteers, and every person who continues to show up for this cause year after year. Your belief in this mission has changed thousands of lives.
#APJ is a 100% volunteer-led organization, which means every dollar raised through this event goes directly back to supporting education in Haiti. That is incredibly rare, and it is why every person in the room has the power to help create opportunities that will last for generations.
This yearās gala takes place on September 13 at the @windsorarms Hotel during the Toronto International Film Festival. It will be an intimate evening of extraordinary performances, powerful storytelling and a community united by the belief that, even in the face of extraordinary challenges, education gives young people the opportunity to rewrite their future and, ultimately, the future of their country.
There are a limited number of tickets available. If youād like to join us for this incredibly special evening and learn more about the impact weāre creating together, please send me a message

Why did the @zellers comeback actually work?
Because bringing back a beloved brand isnāt the hard part. Making it relevant again is.
When Zellers reopened its flagship store in Toronto, it wasnāt simply selling nostalgia. It gave Canadians new reasons to fall in love with a brand they already knew.
The comeback looked forward. A modern retail experience. New brands. Influencer partnerships. National media attention. Even the opening day experience, from the Zellers Diner on Wheels and complimentary ice pops to the return of the iconic kiddie ride and a 25-foot Zeddy Bear, reminded people why they loved Zellers while creating new memories for a new generation. By balancing nostalgia with what Canadians want today, Zellers made its comeback feel relevant, not just familiar.
Thatās what made this such a smart PR strategy. The strongest brand comebacks donāt try to recreate the past. They honour what people loved while giving them a reason to come back.
Swipe through for my #NKPOV on why Zellersā return resonated with Canadians and what every brand can learn from it. š¤
Have you visited the new Zellers yet? Iād love to hear your thoughts. š

The Beckham name always delivers. Or does it?
This week, @brooklynbeckham @DoorDash ad sparked plenty of conversation. While the headlines focused on the family drama, I found myself thinking about what the story reveals from a reputation standpoint. As someone who has spent more than two decades building brands and protecting reputations, Iām always interested in whatās happening beyond the headline.
The timing of this campaign also raised eyebrows. It launched as Sir David Beckham was being honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, putting the Beckham family firmly in the spotlight.
What makes this story so interesting is the contradiction at its centre. Brooklynās public narrative suggests he wants distance from the Beckham name, yet he continues to benefit from the visibility, opportunities, and recognition that come with it.
And thatās where the reputational challenge begins.
You canāt distance yourself from a brand when it doesnāt serve you and leverage it when it does. People notice the inconsistency.
My view? This campaign generated attention because of timing and leaning into controversy. There is no question about that.Ā Ā But attention alone canāt always be the goal.
The real question is whether it created value. Did it make people more likely to use DoorDash? Did it strengthen Brooklynās personal brand? Or did it simply create another news cycle fuelled by controversy?
For me, thatās where the campaign falls short. In fact, it felt more exploitative than effective.
Yes, weāre talking about it. But am I rushing to download DoorDash or did this ad provide incentive to restaurants to sign up with them?
The strongest brands donāt just create conversation. They should convert. They should build trust, reinforce credibility, and strengthen reputation over time.
You can inherit a famous name. But you donāt inherit judgment, or wisdom.Ā Ā Those are built through your own actions, your own decisions, and sometimes, through your own mistakes.
Swipe through for my take on one of the weekās most talked-about campaigns. āØ
What do you think?
Smart marketing, or did this go too far?

Plot Twist: @zellers1928 Is Officially Back.
Last week, Zellers announced its return to Ontario, with new locations opening in Toronto and Windsor. The first Ontario store will open in Toronto at 80 Orfus rd on Thursday June 18th. For many Canadians, Zellers is more than a retail store. Itās a reminder of weekend shopping trips, childhood memories, and a brand that became part of everyday life for generations. šØš¦
What makes this comeback particularly interesting is that it isnāt simply about recreating the past. Itās about reimagining a Canadian icon for todayās consumer. The strongest brands understand that nostalgia alone isnāt enough. It has to be paired with relevance, evolution, and a clear understanding of what people are looking for now.
Iāve always been fascinated by the rare companies that earn a place in our collective memory. The fact that Canadians are still talking about Zellers years later speaks to something every brand hopes to achieve: lasting emotional connection. āØ
Sometimes the most successful comebacks arenāt about returning to where you were. Theyāre about honouring where youāve been while building something new.
