I personally disagree but I find it makes more sense if you view it as Gregory controlling the animatronics and making them act out of character rather than them actually being out of character

I'm gonna trust an official book's description of their personality more than a fanon personality, ykwim? Besides, if you care that much, it takes place before security breach and ruin, so maybe the characters grew, maybe events happened that changed their personality--
