#SharkCore biopsy of a pancreatic solid-pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) from a 22-year-old female. While beta-catenin is a good marker, LEF1 is much easier to interpret. Corresponding gross specimen was unfortunately large (10 cm) but w/ negative margins. #GIPath #Pathology

Subtle flat IBD-associated dysplasia in a patient with long term UC. In contrast to sporadic colorectal adenomas in which p53 is a late change (not seen in LG TAs), in IBD-dysplasia (and Barrett’s), p53 is aberrantly expressed early in LGD @RogerFeakins @jansen_marnix #GIpath

Dilated appendix with concern for LAMN. No LAMN, but the appendix was distended by thick mucous plug. Careful review of the chart revealed patient had cystic fibrosis(CF)! CF pts can have inspissated mucus in the GI lumen. The excess mucus can plug the appendiceal lumen.
