Couldn’t have a person as the face of Wolfpack Football! Rivers to Raleigh!
Also, I still have beef with Manning family over that draft snub too - Philip was the #1 draft pick, not Eli!
He has ten children. Seven daughters, three sons. He became a grandfather two years ago.
Last December, at 44 years old, he came out of five years of retirement and played quarterback in the NFL again.
He had been coaching high school football in Fairhope, Alabama since 2021.
Philip Rivers grew up in Decatur, Alabama, where his father Steve coached the high school team and his mother Joan taught school. When his dad took the job at Athens High, Philip went with him and played for his own father.
Alabama offered him. Auburn offered him. NC State was the first school that seriously wanted him to be a quarterback, so he drove 700 miles away from home to go be one.
He started 51 straight games there. That was an NCAA record. 13,484 yards, and ACC Player of the Year in 2003.
The 2004 draft is the part everybody half remembers. San Diego had the first pick and took Eli Manning, who had already said he would not play for them. The New York Giants took Rivers fourth. Then the two teams traded them for each other.
So he went to San Diego, and from 2006 through 2020 he started every single regular season game. Fifteen seasons. He never missed one.
He walked away in January 2021.
"It's just time. It's just right."
Then he went home to Alabama and took over a high school program at St. Michael Catholic, and he has gone 44 and 16 there.
Which is where he was last December when Daniel Jones got hurt and Indianapolis called a 44 year old man who had not taken a snap in five years.
"I kind of thought that ship had sailed."
"I just felt almost like it was a gift, another opportunity to play."
"You may get some bonus time."
His last game was Week 17 against Jacksonville. The Colts lost it 23 to 17.
Now NC State has fired Dave Doeren, and Bruce Feldman reported this weekend that Rivers is a real candidate to take the job. A source told him it is "definitely more than smoke."
And here is the part that makes it something more than a coaching rumor.
His son Gunner is a four star quarterback in the 2027 class. He is already committed to NC State.
Be straight about the odds. He has never coached a single down of college football. A 44 and 16 record at a high school in Baldwin County is not the ACC, and athletic directors do not usually hand a league job to a man who has never recruited anybody.
But his father coached him in high school. And if this actually happens, he would coach his son at the school where he started 51 games in a row and never sat down once.
No way this happened without cheating.
Oh shit 👀
This is the first time Trump has hinted at fraud in the 2026 midterms.
He points out that GOP candidates actually performed quite well compared to historical volume, but the Dems somehow materialized 20 million new voters out of thin air.
This idea that Republicans voted for the Dems has been debunked. Republicans voted like they normally do, and the Dems put up alarmingly abnormal numbers, even more than in a Presidential race, which is unheard of. Statistically improbable, borderline impossible.
I think Trump is now setting up the narrative to expose the fraud. He hasn’t mention a peep about fraud over the first few days after the election, but this is a sign that he won’t be quiet for much longer.
Sounds about right and his schedule just opened up as well. Would be cool if he made a surprise visit to Carter-Finley today for the Duke game.
The 35% phishing terrifies me … means you can have the absolute best cyber defenses but we need to protect ourselves from ourselves which is much more challenging! I am especially concerned for vulnerable populations that could be targeted by phishing that is impossible to tell isn’t real. Big issue brewing.
Some of the biggest openings in security have nothing to do with patching
How breaches began, per a 2026 report:
- 31% exploited a vulnerability
- 35% used phishing, stolen logins or impersonation scams
And nearly half now involve a vendor or partner, up 3x since 2024

Excited to have Stephen Miller as Chief of Staff leading the fight with President Trump!
President Trump is the most transformative political leader in American History — and he has single-handedly saved America from those who would destroy it.
It has been the privilege of my lifetime to have served on his team from Day One, and I am honored beyond words to serve as his White House Chief of Staff.

Your coding assistant does not know what license it is reproducing.
This is a quiet risk sitting in a lot of codebases right now.
Models trained on public repositories can emit code that closely resembles what they learned. Some of that was permissively licensed. Some of it carries copyleft terms that, if they attach, reach what you built around it.
Nobody is claiming every suggestion is contaminated. The point is that you currently have no record either way, and "we don't know" is the answer you will be giving in diligence.
What helps, in order of effort:
Run a license scanner in CI. This is a solved problem with existing tools.
Turn on your vendor's duplicate detection or code referencing feature if it has one. Several do.
For anything you will license, sell, or open source, have a human review provenance.
You do not need certainty. You need a process you can describe when someone asks.
Wow for real? He came back for a bonus year? Be nice though … McNeil isn’t off a better start. Reminds me of last season until he got things going at the Reynolds game. Luckily Lubin found his game and is en Fuego!
