\1 Our new preprint investigates how DNA methylation of circulating monocytes is associated with the presence of CD as well as the presence of CD-activity. Thanks to @enricoferrero and other colleagues at the @amsterdamumc! disq.us/t/3muu8aq

\4 Taken together, this suggests that the observed differences in methylation might be related to differences the monocyte subsets, which has been observed before (Koch et al. 2010).

\5 Future Qs: While we have circumstantial evidence that some of the DMGs are differentially expressed among subsets, are they truly differentially methylated? Does an interaction exist between the transcriptome/methylome of the different monocyte subsets and CD(-activity)?
A thread of classifiers learning a decision rule. Dashed line is optimal boundary. Animations with #gganimate by @thomasp85 and @drob. #rstats Logistic regression {stats::glm} with each class having normally distributed features. (1/n)

Happy to have this study on bioRxiv where my colleagues and I integrated public datasets on macrophage activation to generate a classification model #elasticnet #immunology #macrophages
"Defining tissue- and disease-associated macrophages using a transcriptome-based classification model" is the #1 paper on bioRxiv today in immunology. Congrats @enricoferrero. See it at -> assert.pub/biorxiv/immunolog… and assert.pub/papers/532986. Please retweet.
