hink I figured out what caused the Cataclysm and why there are now two Avatars
I rewatched Korra this week and I think Korra really did destroy the world.
During the Wan flashback,Wan encountered the spirits Raava and Vaatu duking it out. They were demolishing everything around them, forcing Wan to intervene. Vaatu accused Raava of dominating him,so Wan freed Vaatu from Raava. Raava told Wan he had been tricked and that Vaatu was pure evil. Wan asked Raava why she never destroyed Vaatu. Raava told Wan that she's tried a few times, but Vaatu grew back from within her. Wan got around this by imprisoning Vaatu instead of killing him.
Later,Vaatu and Unalaq successfully destroy Raava, but Korra revives her by pulling her out of Vaatu. Korra then destroys Vaatu, and Raava spends the rest of the series sitting comfortably inside Korra. But remember,Raava said that Vaatu always grows back from inside her. So Vaatu will eventually come back. And if he comes from inside Raava, and Raava is inside Korra, that would mean Vaatu would also be inside Korra.
My theory is,Vaatu came back and started fighting Raava inside of Korra. Korra could not contain both spirits, went berserk, and caused the Cataclysm. She eventually regained control of herself, and she sacrificed herself to keep the Cataclysm from completely destroying everything. Somehow,Raava and Vaatu both adapted to merging back together while being tied to the Avatar cycle. When they realized they can't get what they want without destroying everything, they hashed out their differences and learned to coexist.
This resulted in twin Avatars, but not the traditional Good and Evil types. Nisha has Raava's spirit; she is disciplined and orderly, but can be controlling and dominant of others. Pavi has Vaatu's spirit; she is flighty and resents being controlled, but values freedom and wants others to be free as well. They represent the duality of order and chaos, not light and darkness, and exist as the balance the Avatar is supposed to maintain. The desire to create a world of peace and order, and the desire to make sure everyone has the freedom to live happy lives.

To determine whether or not a PH politician is anti-imperialist, check his/her stance on at least three issues: West Philippine Sea, EDCA & other similar agreements that allow foreign military presence in PH (even Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago was against EDCA), and Pax Silica.
