i love how la chimera makes the act of searching feel almost indistinguishable from mourning. arthur digs bc he cannot let go, and he cannot let go bc searching is the closest thing he has left to being with her. it’s true when some say that some people spend their lives looking for what they’ve lost bc they don’t know who they are without the search

and thats why this scene in la chimera is so important bc, for once, arthur (archaeologist and tomb raider) accepts that loving something doesn’t mean taking it away from where it belongs. perhaps that’s the closest he gets to letting go of beniamina, too.
